Splice has just introduced ASTRA, a new multi-engine Synthesizer made in collaboration with Sharooz Raoofi (ex Audiaire) and Sinevibes. It has VA, FM, granular, and wavetable oscillators, macro sequencing like in the former Audiaire plugins, and more.

It looks like a simplified version of Roli Equator 2. Nice feature set. Not so improved by the audio demos they have.

I wonder if this kind of strategy (subscription) is ideal for something like a synth. I'm a lot less compelled to subscribe to a synth than a suite of effects.
Changing some FX in a mix (if I'd get out of subcription) is a lot less sonically noticeable than changing whole instruments!

Sharooz Raoofi seems to move around a lot Sample Magic, Audaire, and now this. Sample Magic stiffed a few of us with Stacker.

So this is the new 'Zone'? I always liked that synths (still own it), interested to see this is what happened to it!
Shame no upgrade for Zone owners, it seems like a great synth but has flown totally under the radar (as only for subscribers)

How does this work if you stop subscribing, can you just play back the sounds?
