Is there an alternative to Sonic Charge bitspeek that can sound much the same?

There we are - I have tried vocalsynth2 but can't nail the bitspeek sound - vocalsynth has some nice sounds, but not the combination of distortion and clarity that bitspeek gets.
Is there a plugin - or any combination of plugins that can do bitspeek ?
I am mainly interested in processing live audio of all sorts but not the usual singing/vocoder thing

I have given it a little go but have not figured out how to get it to process an audio track - maybe I should tackle the manual as a last resort

I dont own it and want to see what else is around that is similar. I might even own a plugin that works as an alternative but I am not aware of that aspect of that plugin.

Just to chime in once more: unlike Chipspeech, Chipcrusher is not a speech synthesizer...more of a creative tool to degrade sounds in ways, that are charmingly retro.

I use Chipcrusher as a simple insert-fx on audio tracks in Ableton - it is an fx plugin that, among other things, combines DAC simulations & reproduces different speakers. They have specific algorithms for speak & spell toys, so that should get op at least in vincinity of what he's after.

(There's other things in there as well...a vocoder & a simulation of a SNES delay effect...but I believe the Speak & Spell options are what is of interest here)

Yeah - Chipcrusher is cool and get's you closest to Bitspeek territory. But damn it's hard to get even close to the Speak & Spell sound. I remember creating insane chains with EQ and de-essers just to get close, and then it hit me that they were probably using very low-fi equipment (compared with today) to record the voices, and I kind of gave up

starting to get some good results with the Compuvox algorithm VocalSynth2 - there is a lot more interaction between the parameters than I first thought so working slowly through that, plus using an additional EQ is working wonders. thanks again
