The filters and the modulation options in WhispAir are very good...

The only thing I don't like about this synth is the chorus,but you don't need that to make this synth sound good...

You can get better "effects" out of detuning and panning the osciillators and any of the modulation options...

I've checked out all of Bjorn's synths over the years and I feel that WhispAir is his best one yet and you can find his DNA all over it

It's kind of like a Largo that doesn't want to sound metallic. There is no "spectral-centric" in this software, unless you incorporate it into the audio you bring in.

I am just gonna start collecting wavetables that load in WhispAir. I just finally found the Waldorf ALT1 and ALT2 and it pulled them right in without any prep. I'll upload to the files when I am done. It'll be my take on "Loadable Wavetables People Should Have".

In fact, when designing WhispAir, I had the obscure idea of "What if Korg would have built a wavetable synth in the 80s?"... Well, I guess it would have had no graphic displays, less oscillators and EGs, no AM nor FM etc. But having grown up with a Mono/Poly while admiring the PPGs Waves, I think it is a only natural to dream of such an alternate reality.

Thank you for the encouragement - I absolutely agree about the what if question. Thanks again for making this. I will put forth a good effort on collecting and preparing wavetables, at least to my liking, and share with the community. A great thing you have done here. It is more KORG than KORG. Your KORG wavetable is an order of magnitude better than their KORG wavetable.

Indeed, they nearly did. The DW-8000 was nearly a wavetable: it was all set up to be one, but for whatever reason, it didn't occur to Korg to take it to that next step and allow you to blend from one DWGS waveform to another. Other than that, the DW-8000 had no graphic displays, it had fewer oscillators and EGs, and didn't have AM or FM. So you're exactly right!

And once again, thank you so much for your inclusion of the original DWGS waveforms. I plan to start this weekend recreating some of my old favorites. I promised a couple years ago that if you ever did this, I'd send a donation your way and did so yesterday evening. This is an incredible release with a ton more stuff hidden in it that we haven't completely discovered yet. Just fantastic work!

To whom it may concern, I have confirmed that Waldorf Blofeld Wavetable Creator exports wavetables in .SYX format directly readable by WhispAir

Something I am into - this is how to setup basic Waldorf Pulse style "crossmod" which in reality is an XOR function applied to two square waves, or to a square and a PWM wave. Modulating OSC1's pitch will alter timbre, modulating OSC 2's pitch will alter actual pitch.
