I am impartial, that's the whole point of my reply , I wanted to point out that there was no strawmanning going on and you just got things mixed up. No biggie.

Nobody is misinterpreting the above, you are just leaving out the bit where you also went on to say:

cost, convenience, fully optimised, pristine digital audio output via optical and spdif, ultra low-latency, zero setup, zero compatibility issues Vs external audio interfaces

The "super high-end audio reproduction device" remark is just a humorous shorthand way of pointing out your unrealistic expectations based on just the criteria of something being ASIO compatible -- and again, you quoted that phrase and replied to it reiterating exactly your misconception before calling the phrase a strawman after the fact. It doesn't work that way (both ASIO compatibility and the said logical fallacy), and something having ASIO drivers doesn't automatically mean you get something "pristine" and "fully optimised" and "ultra low-latency" and so on. This is as on point, on topic and as straightforward as it can be, actual constructive commenting on a technical level with no goalpost shifting, and you decided to bring all the meta into this when you, instead, took it badly, personally.

The only questionable debating tactics (why is it a debate in the first place?) are in these weird replies of yours. This just demonstrates how technical matters are so difficult to discuss when constructive comments cause personal reactions like this. Sigh. I should have left your "strawman" comment be, anyway, this reply of yours is seriously weird and shows how easily feedback derails things when not taking it well

Recap: these things (the quality of the interface and it having ASIO support) aren't related quite in the way you did assume, and I replied only because you suddenly brought up strawmanning after first going down this path with this strangely gloating reply:

I’m happy with RME. Latency around 2-3ms in the DAW (Reaper, Windows 10), with current settings. Seems okay.
