Mackie, in conjunction with Guitar Player magazine and MusicPlayer.com, is offering a free and licensed copy of their Traction software for download from their site, in both Windows and OS X versions.
You do have to register on the Mackie site to get to the download and your registration number.

Well, you need to install Tracktion first, then copy the machine id from the about box and paste it into the first field on the registration form on the website and then hit create licence (or similar, I already did it).
