Using MIDISPORT 4x4 to route MIDI without a sequencer

Hi. I have a Midisport 4x4 MIDI interface, which I use with a master keyboard plus various hardware MIDI devices.
Does anyone know if there is a utility/ host out there which will allow me to play my external devices from the master keyboard via the Midisport without having to load up Cubase? i.e. I am looking simply to route the MIDI through the MIDISPORT without a sequencer, if I just want to play my instruments.
Any thoughts?
Thanks

Install the midisport software, it comes with a routing matrix tool.

Hi. Thanks - mine didn't have the routing software for some reason - on the CD I just get a driver (which is now out of date) and on the website there's just a driver update but no other software.

look at 'MIDI Trix'
WWW:HermannSeib.com
This will do what you need, and more. Nice utility when loading up heavy sequencers or instruments is not need or wanted.

Download the web installer driver(4.1.21)-this will install the remote software AND the driver. The remote's .exe will be in C:/Program Files/M-Audio Midisport4x4 by default.j2cuba wrote:Hi. Thanks again. Very odd - that's the driver & installer I've been using. I've redownloaded and reinstalled just to be sure but still no sign of a router!
I've noticed on the MAudio site that there is a new version of the 4x4 which is silver (mine is the old pale blue one). Maybe that's the issue. Anyway...
Thanks for the Miditrix link - I'll give that a shot.

midi-ox (www.midiox.com) also works well for this.

It'll be an icon titled MSport44.Do you have that in a folder in Program Files dealing with M-Audio?j2cuba wrote:Thanks again. Very odd - that's the driver & installer I've been using. Another thing I've found useful is to run their MIDI fix tool before doing the install-this will remove ANY stray MIDI inputs/outputs on your machine.

cheers. It's a mystery - that file is nowhere to be found, even after a full search of my entire system! Anyway, MIDIOX does exactly what I want and very neatly too so thanks everyone for your suggestions.
