I see a few people are posting snip s of the new sampler that was spotted in the rack in the launch video- looks pretty cool.

It's called Mimic Creative Sampler. Tbh that part of the GUI showing the usual controls for a sampler doesn't excite me yet. But I am curious about the part they're not showing us. What will this sampler do that others don't?

received an email for 3 months reason+ for 3 euro, so you check out the new features.
is reason 12 ready, or only the HD stuff?

i had by mistake a reason+ trial, i stopped that, i don't want it.. the website, if you click on something, you are drawn in, like in a Jaws movie, to reason+

but this i even wonder, will i do it, only to see what is coming, can i end it after 3 months.

if i click on the email, do i have immediately a reason+ subscription... i know my way around on websites, and computers, but reason studios seems like a click bait site...

EDIT: i have install some nasty program, with that also gets all the soundpacks and... o no... i want a silent summer, to slam out some horrific experiments, not experiments with how things will f*ck up licenses..

Some guy asked about upgrade price from 11 to 12 (which is obvious that he means an actual, permanent license upgrade) and they replied:

Another asked when 12 is coming to regular users (obvious what he meant, right?) and the reply was:

Regular users can have early access to these features now in Reason+

I'm scared to think how their media people live their lives?

Since that wouldn't make sense for Reason Rack (you can scale it already separately from the DAW it's running in) then perhaps it means they still have some plans the Reason DAW after all...

yes no R+ schemes, although in the message, you place afterwards, with a link to...

the last message, confirms, you revert back. but can't use the projects in reason 11, difficult.

i don't like subscription but for 3 euro. to see a stable version of what is to come.

scaling of the RRP, will already immensely great, and of the Rack in the DAW, you use both..

but it should be an 11.5 update... o well... if the sampler is great...

i think i will pass, and wait, for a sale.. or not? you don't see any specifics in the email, about that the sub will end automatically, for instance.

Reason Studios said that they were working on a PayPal option a few months ago. Did that happen?

Those of you running the beta were surely annoyed that it takes some time (seconds, even minutes) for the high-res assets to load up, right?

Well, apparently it's a feature and will stay like that in a final release!!!

This is intentional, though I think we can get it even faster in future updates. Basically we're scaling each hi-res asset to suit your zoom level, OS zoom setting, screen, pixel density etc. when needed. To not cause any issues (glitches, hangs, etc.) while you're making music, this is done with low priority in the background while you see a roughly scaled preview. It then "switches in" when done. Kind of like the time stretch preview in the sequencer. Once it's scaled, we cache the images so you only need to do it once for your zoom level of choice.

The dev team is looking at how fast we can make that without interrupting anything else, but for now it's a one-time thing that at least came from a nice place: us trying to not cause issues when you're making music.

I mean, I appreciate your snarkiness - as I totally agree it's irritating as hell to wait for high-res assets to load for the very first and only time. But I mean come on - it's one and done. If you're that irritated by it, choose your zoom level of preference, and then spend one single session loading every single RE and native Reason device, go have a cup of coffee and let the high-res assets load at least once so they can all cache, and never worry about it again.

Hopefully it'll get faster in the future, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Having to wait for low res graphics to 'pop' into hi res graphics is at best very strange! I think they are going to get a lot of negative feedback when it's launched unless they make it very clear its expected behaviour. Personally, I can live with it, but it is strange no other software (I know of) has to do this.

I am not use it happens every time, I think it caches, but if you load a device you haven't loaded before or change zoom level it will happen again!

Then you're doing it wrong, because that is exactly how it works. Once the images are cached, Reason uses them as the source going forward - forever - for that zoom level. When was the last time you tried it?

v12 yesterday, before it was 11.4; I'm downloading it again. It's possible I was wrong.

This pretty much sums up Reason for the past 20+ years, so nothing new that's out of the ordinary.

Huh? Of course you can change your zoom level at any time (once the initial high-res assets are cached)! Works fine. I just switched from 140% to 180% in one session, and the high-res looked fantastic and was instant. It's a pain in the ass waiting for the assets to load for each zoom level for that first time, though.

Ok, I take it back. It actually does load the high-res versions once and then it's instant. That's fine.
