If you are 20 or less, most probably, you never saw these Vintage FX as they were, in some cases, 20 years old.
In this video I turn on my old PC (with Windows XP from 2005) and I revisit the VST FX that I consider the best 10 vintage VST effects - free or not. I am using Logic 5.5.1 from 2001 and these plugins are discontinued in most cases so you cannot use them nowadays in your setup.
I started using this stuff in 1998 when I started producing Drum´n´Bass and these were the tools I used for many years until I changed to Mac (and still kept using some of these VSTs that also were made for Mac).
Although they are some of the oldest FX, I did not show Waves VST plugins (and other brands) because they are still in existence, although with modern GUIs.
I could also show a lot more FX but I decided to keep this short.

Nice fun video, really takes me back... I started with VST plugins around 2000 and definitely recognize the Sonitus stuff.

One of my favorite vintage plugins is Line 6 Gearbox, which is from around 2008. I was able to install it on Windows 7 but had to jury rig things so it would work; XP was the last supported Windows AFAIK. It's a guitar ampsim and FX unit that comes with a bunch of FX and presets which take it beyond just guitar stuff. Love it and still use it.

The Sonitus collection was a powerhouse man! Some of my favourites alongside with the Waves and TC Works stuff at that time.

Yes, very true in some cases. I keep my computers as they were when installations (and testing) were done: I have my 2005 PC and my 2012 Mac (damn... time is flying, it seems it was yesterday). Never updated and still working fine, both of them. Then I got a recent laptop and that is ± up to date. All my computers are used like this. I stopped going crazy with software updates. I know they are working fine (with some limitations if you consider recent software but I can live with it). Best thing is that both computers "talk" to each other without issues and I can send my PC Logic 5.5.1 sessions to Logic 9 in the Mac and they open - even recognizing some of the same plugins I have in both systems. That is nice, if true old school...
Basically I use my computers as hardware, just like hardware synthesizers! I keep them as they are and I adapt myself to them! LOL!

Hi, I had thought about it and I might just do it, yes. I don´t remember what synths I still have (really early ones) as I don´t use that computer for ages and, as I mentioned in the video, I did a cleanup so I deleted a lot of stuff. I still have the install CDs but not here.
I have to check it. Soon!

During the video, I saw you also had North Pole effect installed. I remember using/liking that one. And I remember all of the ones from you video, except the ones you created.

I was about to use it but after using 2 filters already I decided not to use it in this video.

Was really hoping i’d see the DSP Fx plugs. Very old vintage would be Direct X format plugins. But i guess the title/theme is only early vintage vst format plugins. Antares Filter, Amplitube 1, were offered as Direct X format. Wish they brought Antares Filter back as an updated 64bit vst, such a great and creative inspiring modular filter/delay.

This is the modular filter delay that PSP Nitro and others should have been.

Hi. I had other DirectX plugins and decided not to use them and keep it as a VST video. I had that Antares Filter (as well as the Antares Tube plugin) installed but after using 3 filters in the video I decided not to use more or it would look like the best 10 vintage filters video... LOL!
I might do a volume 2, it seems...
