Cool, looking forward to Predator 3. I really should use 2 more but I dislike the gui. Blue II is much better but Blade 2 is pretty rough (and can crash here when using the large skin). I use Go2 frequently even though I really don't like its gui either.
Rob and Jon makes some really good synths but their gui design looks outdated in my opinion. Like something from the early 2000's. Shame their guis can't have the visual quality as their synths have audio quality. But I doubt they will change at this point.

Very excited about next TBA eXplorer-7! Predator and BLUE are ones of my all-time to-go synths, such as DUNE, Icarus2, Zebra, Hybrid 3 (yes, the AIR one, you read that right) DIVA, Saurus, HY-Poly and some others.
Although I would embrace some improvements in the aesthetic part and GUI, for me it is totally irrelevant in the face of the impressive sound quality of Rob Papen's synths, its inner potential and creative stimulus in my music.
All of Rob Papen's synths and tools (eXplorer 6) are on the favorite list sharing with my favorites.
I know that both aspects are adjacent and related to each other, but after many years of using Papen synths, the GUI has never interfered with the satisfactory results I have obtained from their use.
And I don't know if it's a personal thing, but I like a lot some graphical aspects of some Papen's synths.
For example the XY display surfaces in motion are for me a delightful contemporary element that gives you a lot of functionality and level of control. Excellent visual feedback of modulation and FX. A similar feeling gives me another of my total favorites, Icarus2.
Nowadays there is an obsessive tendency to qualify and sometimes underestimate software because of its appearance, but we forget that the visual aspect has to be totally linked to the functionality, not just "the fancy dress" you are wearing.
So I'd rather have a less dazzling appearance than something with no functionality to offer.
Ultimately it's a personal matter, but for me, the end results through a decent usability, are my most decisive factors. Long live the Rob Papen synths and the tons of GREAT music that has been produced with them.

Predator (the original) is the ONLY synth that I continue to use despite it having an available sequel. I own Predator 2 and I absolutely loathe the UI. The original is so, so much better that I just couldn't do anything but trash v2, I hate it that much.
Here's hoping Predator 3 changes that.....yet somehow, I'm doubtful...

Funny how so many people, me included, who cannot abide the GUI for Predator 2, it's the biggest reason I stopped using it.
I really hope they do something to improve that in V3.

I used to use Predator and Blue and still own early versions but stopped upgrading when they went to c/r. Are they still c/r ?

Here's hoping for a GUI overhaul, including hi-DPI support, across all RP plugins — they certainly deserve it. Not holding my breath though given the horrible GUI the more recent Blade 2 has.

in a way c/r, but with a twist. so not really c/r, you must manually copy paste codes, via your account, or copy does not work.. simple codes.rasmusklump wrote: Wed Jul 14, 2021 7:01 am I used to use Predator and Blue and still own early versions but stopped upgrading when they went to c/r. and you can deactivate via account, that is great.
so, no probs.
and by the way me like Rob Papen synths, own them not that long, Blade 2, Punch 2, Blue 2 (Rob Papen is a nice guy, gave access to a bundle that was still on the website, but via the homepage..),
and bought Vecto and Delsane. Blade 2 en Vecto; MPE! so nice.

how the perciptive of a GUI can be so different, Blade 2 is for me quite structured. i don't have hi-DPI problems, because.. o well... that i can't experience, the problems with it.db3 wrote: Wed Jul 14, 2021 7:40 am Here's hoping for a GUI overhaul, including hi-DPI support, across all RP plugins — they certainly deserve it. working with Blade 2, for me, personally, subjective, is great fun...
i can get why it doesn't work for everyone...
