Hello,

Im looking to getting new pair of monitors. I've decided to go about 8 inch woofer this time. This Eve Audio SC 208 has got me interested.. I see a lot of people liking the sound of it...

However, there are numerous complaints from users that have issue with this line of speakers. Commonly reported random loss of audio signal, fried power supply, problems with the electronics.

So wanted to get an advice, are the SC208 worthy as of build quality and reliability in long term.

In the local music store i listened to the SC407, and it sounds awesome. But it is too much for my space. I produce breakbeat so would really need a 8'' , anything would be beneficial to get a better insight on the lower frequencies compared to my old trusty Yamies HS50M.

So i suppose the sound of the Eve SC208 would be much better, but am worried if gonna have problems with it and have to send it back for repair.

Are there any users here of the SC208 that haven't had any issues with them ?

Thank you!

Can't comment on the SC208 but I have the SC203 here which will use some of the same tech... no issues after 5 years constant use.

There may have been a bad batch of the SC208 at one point? Either way buying from a reputable shop should give some reassurance if anything goes wrong in the short term.

I wouldn't buy that speaker after reading the numerous complaints i think. How much is it?

Do you use the 203 with a sub?
Every day takes figuring out all over again how to f#ckin’ live.

Seems like their QC isn't anything to scream about, same as Focal's, but both brands are considered premium, just their budget stuff is budget in that actual sense, so be wary, but if you trust Yamaha, why not get HS8's or just get sub for your HS50's?
