Hi everyone I need to choose one of these graphix cards for music production.. which one should I go for.. what is your experience with these?

Well, I don’t think GPUs have much to do with audio production.

But okay, I did a search for a “vs” between those. Looks like the nVidia uses a lot less power, so absent any other relevant info, I recommend that one.

Thank you for your input.. I am wondering as I want to use synths like pigments and avenger which are known to tax gpus a bit

What CPU are you running? Could be it has a built-in GPU that will do the trick.

But anyway, it seems the AMD of that couple you named is more capable. Neither is great, but it is the slightly less bad.

My cpu is a intel i7 4 generation 4ghz with 16gb ddr3 1333 speed ram and a Toshiba 3 tb 7500 rpm drive ( the hhd is only 2 years old) and I am running a dual boot system with win7 home and win10 pro which I recently been able to upgrade from win7 pro

The onboard Gpu is an intel hd4600 and my mbrd chipset is intel b85

nVidia is ending Kepler 600/700 series support coming October - just saying.

I would also add that using SSD drives will probably have more impact on almost anything, short of mildly demanding games, than a minor GPU upgrade.

Yea I do agree that SSD would be a performance upgrade, how ever I do have these two cards that I can utilise, one is my original (nvidia) and the other is the radeon.. which is my sons but his system is a dell optiplex 3020 that does not have the correct rating for the Radeon Card which needs a minum 400w psu. My Nvidia card runs fine on his system and mine but to use his radeon card I will have to either replace his fan and create a custom cooling using a case fan with my psu or will have to let him run a stock standard setup with on board vga. However I am trying to create a setup from which we both will be able to benefit from. We both have an intel i7 4th gen cpu but his is 3.66 ghz and his system is an Dell optiplex with a 290w psu

Then your PSU power rating dictates what GFX-card to use in which system - simple as that.
