Just bought it today. So cheaply priced
Worth every penny and more.
The docking windows are amazing.
One thing I'd like to see: A paint feature in the piano roll. (unless It's there?)

I am hoping for a builtin eq of any sort. I went through all the walkthroughs and learned a lot. There are already a lot of features and it looks like lots more coming. I personally can't seem to find a free eq I like for everything. My definition would be something I could type numbers into so I could save presets, but also be able to draw like nyquist. Actually nyquist and some simple presets in XT would be a good mix. Doesn't have to be a high end eq, even a lo/hi pass would be great on a mixer channel or something. The less memory/CPU it would use the better.

These FRs are related to your request:
an EQ (3-5 band) for each Mixer channel (Posting)
in Sequencer, per channel parametric EQ. (Posting) (Posting)
- - Jorgen suggested “something like a "Add new band" per audio channel function...just like you add insert fx...don't need eq, don't use it, need 2 band eq, just add 2 bands...”

Okay, no more eq excuses, made a lo and hi pass in synthedit. I will do some more tracking in XT. Still a little confused in the sampler. Only tried a hihat and kick so far, but should get easier with time. Still need to try tracking audio also. Arp and chorder are very nice.

Okay, I'll just add my 'most needed features' to this list:
- moving the song-position -cursor from within a midi part (I mean, when opening a midi part in the sequencer, for instance ctrl+clicking the timeline would move the cursor to the position just clicked instead of adjusting the loop point).
- real-time note audition when editing/inputting midi data.
- Freezing and bouncing tracks in the sequencer would catch also effects routed from the seq output in the main modular view.
- Feasible velocity fade in midi editor. It is an absolutely basic midi editing feature to be able to select a group of notes and make a velocity fade that affects only them. This is still missing, as the velocity fade always affects the whole midi-clip, renderig the tool severely limited. It would also be handy to make, say, exponential velocity fades...
- PDC, preferably for effects routed in the main modular view as well.
- Time stretch and pitch shift for audio clips.
- a project-specific notepad wouldn't be a bad idea either, although it's hardly essential
- Arpeggiator and Chorder should be useable in Sequencer as well. So that you could route a midi part going into arpeggiator/chorder before it goes into a VSTi-plugin.
- Tempo track would be nice, as would more comprehensive quantization options.
- afaik, if two midi tracks are on top of eachother, selecting the topmost one is impossible? This is very vexing especially when paired with the odd behavior of eXT to create a midi track starting from the beginning of the song when I records something in the middle of the song. This should be fixed... Though I've probbly just missed something with this one...
- Improved VST automation
- Resizing midi notes and midi clips from the left border as well...
- There should be a way to browse through presets without using the mouse. I have my midi keyboard at the right side of my computer so that if I'm properly playing it, I can only reach my keyboard/mouse with my left hand. Operating the mouse with left hand is pita, so using for example arrow buttons to toggle through presets would be handy.
- Resizing the track view vertically would be handy, so that if seeing the midi data or waveform of the track is not necessary, one could save a lot of vertical space
- Redo
Umm, yeah, that's all I could think of right now. These are mostly things I'm mising from SX2 when using eXT...

What do you thinks is the 'MIDI FX - Groove'-header in the sequencer's mixer for?visa tapani wrote: - Arpeggiator and Chorder should be useable in Sequencer as well. So that you could route a midi part going into arpeggiator/chorder before it goes into a VSTi-plugin.

Some good suggestions...all already on the "list"...but a few things I see you mention is already there.visa tapani wrote:Okay, I'll just add my 'most needed features' to this list:
They are useable in the sequencer...just insert them in your MIDI FX inserts...visa tapani wrote:- Arpeggiator and Chorder should be useable in Sequencer as well. So that you could route a midi part going into arpeggiator/chorder before it goes into a VSTi-plugin.
Page up/Page Down keys will work with plugin selected...and if the plug supports program change you could possibly use you MIDI controller.visa tapani wrote: - There should be a way to browse through presets without using the mouse. Pressing the "H" key with the track selected will minimize the trackvisa tapani wrote:- Resizing the track view vertically would be handy, so that if seeing the midi data or waveform of the track is not necessary, one could save a lot of vertical space
very close to my list actually...at least you can still use XT indside SX2visa tapani wrote: Umm, yeah, that's all I could think of right now. These are mostly things I'm mising from SX2 when using eXT...

I second the "Redo" FR. The potential is there to accidentally lose the perfect "take" upon a slip of the mouse - if I hit the "Undo" button after recording in the sequencer. (Most apps provide a redo command alongside their undo command).visa tapani wrote:Okay, I'll just add my 'most needed features' to this list:

Using Undo/Redo is also an effective way to do an A-B comparison.
