Hi all,

I've just freshly registered to this forum, so I wanted to say 'Hi' 8) . Having been a lurker and getting valuable infos for purchases over the last couple of years - so thanks everyone for that.

I am wondering if there are people like me who are demoing Fabfilter products every other year and thinking that they are great, saving for their bundle and 25% discount deals and then end up spending impulsively the same amount of money on UVI products? :dog: It's just hilarious, sorry to share that but Fabfilter will again have to wait for maybe Black Friday? :ud:

Anyways. Cheers

Sure, happens often especially to 1 post forum users. Similar to them being fed up with NI or Steinberg, just finding out about melda or having dongle issues.  :D

Good one. No I'm legit. Second post :D

Save up? I just carelessly spend, ever getting myself in one bind after another.
Doing nothing is only fun when you have something you are supposed to do.

Haha, that's another way to put it. I'm in the same boat. But hey, I have a strange skill to come up with a bulletproof justification for almost any purchase. :hihi:

I got into fabfilter kind of accidently by investing in a second hand bundle, and I have to say it's among the most userfriendly high quality no b-s plugins I've dealt with. Now it's mostly MeldaProduction digging into MXXX for going deep and Fabfilter for just getting to the point while still having a quite crazy modulation system for some of the plugins. And the more Fabfilter plugins you've got in your account the cheaper it gets to expand that palette. ;-) I don't reccomend their synth plugins though.

Thank you for your input and reminding me of my initial thoughts and approach. I already got the MeldaProduction Complete Bundle - I've collected this over some time and got a good deal for all the plugins lately. Guess :hihi:. My intention was also to have something to dial in something quick with good professional results - no b/s as you mention. Therefore I'm demoing Fabfilter extensively - still. But everytime I am about to commit, I somehow come to the conclusion that Melda is covering all of that and then I go for something which I don't already have in the arsenal. It's kind of a viscious circle.

lol. as if this thread is a self fulfilling prophecy...

Hah, my opinion is while MeldaProduction does indeed cover just about everything you could possibly ever need there's a userfriendlyness and more instant results to the Fabfilter plugins that make them totally worth it in the long run - as long as you can afford to get into one if the bundles as a gateway. I have sooo many plugins from so many vendors and now forr FX it's most only MeldaProduction and Fabfilter all the way. But offcourse if you can't afford or justify it you can't though I doubt you'd regret that combination in the long run. ;-)

no reason for that as I already mentioned. I already got some serious input on a not so serious post however, it's fine. :)

Every year I'd do the same thing with Native Instruments and the Komplete crossgrade from Kontakt. There'd be some good summer sale item that came up right beforehand, and I'd buy something. Then NI's sale would hit and I'd look at Komplete and think, "all I really want is Reaktor." But this year I finally bit the bullet.

I think devs tend to have sales around the same time each year, so it's easy to end up in a cycle where someone just keeps spending their plugin dollars on a different summer sale item before the NI or Fabfilter or Arturia sales come along. And the early bird ends up catching the worm.

That said, I finally bought Komplete.

Needless to say, I have NI Komplete as well - but from around 10 years back. Good product
