I'm part of the user base? Certainly not. Always funny Bitwig and Live evangelicals always state it's the users problem rather than the DAWs. Never have a response to the shortcomings but rather resort to personal attacks. Just shows you what children the DAWs appeal towards.liquidsound wrote: Sat Jul 17, 2021 8:13 pmTo which you certantly belong.hoxclab wrote: Sat Jul 17, 2021 8:10 pmThey have serious limitations similar to those of their dilettante userbase.

I don't know where you are coming from but I'm sure no one is missing you there.
Don't bother to reply. You'll be the only one reading it.

Most Pros have their tools already (3rd party plugins) and they use mostly their trained ears with it.
Also, no DAW is complete! If your main job is mixing or mastering, you might better with Pro Tools or a similar DAW. Bitwig and Live for musicians and beat makers that have limited needs for mixing and mastering. I'm confident that you are not a professional because the professional knows well how to pick his/her tools

Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

Yeah, if you work is sitting all day mixing and mastering others peoples work, then you would want a DAW that was focused and efficient for that task. For that, speed and workflow matters.EnGee wrote: Sat Jul 17, 2021 9:04 pm Most Pros have their tools already (3rd party plugins) and they use mostly their trained ears with it.

That said, you can get just as professional a result mixing and mastering in Live and Bitwig as any other DAW.

Proving my point exactly. I know well how to pick my tools and that does not include Bitwig nor Live.EnGee wrote: Sat Jul 17, 2021 9:04 pm I'm confident that you are not a professional because the professional knows well how to pick his/her tools![]()
Also look how many people in the buy/sell forum are dumping Bitwig and Live for half the going price. That tells you all you need to know.

Some people just like to complain. I did that as well in the past, but I fed up with myself and told it to shut up!
If a DAW is missing something and you can't add it by a 3rd party, then you have the right imo to complain vs the false advertisement!

Software always goes for about half the price all the time. That goes for any DAWs as well.
Many people are dumping any DAW because they don't like it or they don't understand it.
Bitwig is freaking awesome, period. I'm saying that as someone who has been a Cubase user since the late 90's. I've also worked with other DAWs like Cakewalk/Logic/Reaper and even things like Renoise.
I never liked Live (long story) but I used it at live gigs a couple of times. It comes down to matter of TASTE. Just because YOU don't understand or need the functionality doesn't mean it's a bad DAW.
If you don't have good 3rd party de-noise plugins in your VST collection and you are professionally working with de-noising, that is just hilarious. Do whatever you want, but you clearly have no idea what Bitwig is or can do for creative producers and musicians. Your loss completely.
I've done both professional work (tracking/mixing for established rock artists) and my hobby (my own electronica based productions). I would probably never chose Live or Bitwig for mixing/tracking when getting hired for that purpose - but that's just because that it is easier for ME in Cubase (20 years of experience with it...).

And? FL is superior to Bitwig. Also Imagine-Line doesn't charge users $200 a year for updates. Now that is some pure clownery. Enjoy your E-Cowbell.

I've seen zero installations of Fruityloops in any studios I've been working in. Even in the academic world of audio engineering FL is like the only DAW that isn't taught by professionals (I know for a fact that Cubase/Logic/Reaper/Live/Bitwig is being taught at the audio engineering programs at the university). But I also know a lot of people love Fruity and produced incredibly good albums with it. The albums where mostly mixed in other DAWs in the end, but who gives a shit?! I don't have an urge to diss it just because *I* don't like it... Pubertal behavior.
Why would I go on a Fruity-forum and claim it's unprofessional just because no professional studios use it? Who cares? If someone use it for to produce good songs, good for them!
