My Top 10 Vintage VST SYNTHS

VST plugins (FX and Instruments) are here for 2 decades and some of the early ones are not made anymore.
In this video I show my Top 10 Vintage VST synthesizers. To do it, I used my old PC with Windows XP (installed in 2005) and created a 2 minute track (without any processing or tricks) using Logic 5.5.1 - its last version for PC from 2002.
Some of these synths are still around but these were their older versions - some are very different, some are not. Most of them are not available anymore and most people don´t even remember them (younger people don´t even heard about them).

It goes from Synapse Junglist to ReFX JunoX2!

I miss logic on the PC.... nothing has been the same since.. ;-0

is there a way to read the old logic files and get them on another DAW...??

Hi.

I don´t know why but Logic 5.5.1, a RME HDSP and Windows XP (with graphics reduced to a minimum) is simply a killer combination: I was very happy to have that setup in (and since) 2002 and it is, by far, the most stable system I have ever used. Even in my Mac with a more recent setup (and also using a RME HDSP), I struggle sometimes where on the PC I would go lightning fast!

I can open Logic 5 sessions in my Logic 9 on my Mac. It even opens most plugins that are in both systems. If you use Logic plugins, it´s a breeze.
I am not in the studio right now and cannot remember what kind of files Logic can export... maybe OMF? If yes, then you can try that. It should be better to render all plugins to audio to ensure the maximum compatibility.

(It should have been Absynth 2 instead of 3 for that extra vintage sound, but we'll forgive you.)

(I still use Absynth 2 jbridged in my current setup.)

Thanks for the video. Another fun watch I remember playing with Steinberg Neon and thinking how cool it was going to be to one day be completely in the box, but also knew it was going to take long while...

I have extremely fond memories of using a copy of reason 1.0 on my grandmothers compaq as a kid. My parents later got me 2.5 for Christmas. So for me it was those synths.
