Ok thx let me do some research on this as I am not all that technically savvy with all of these aspects.

Confused sorry, does this mean I can only do this with the addition of an external hardware sound card please?

Post

only do what?

Audio software normally sends directly to the audio outputs via some driver type. if you wanted to daisychain between multiple audio applications, you cant, because they send out to the hardware, all individually, in parallel.

you can get around that by using hardware cables and an audio interface with multiple inputs and outputs.

however the virtual audio cable solution i suggested is designed to replace those real audio cables with virtual ones, and route audio between applications, in series.

Thx. I was able to run VST with otsav via a software utility called Powair and virtual cables a while back:

https://forum.soundradix.com/t/can-i-ro ... ir/1153/10

Issue was the Powair was coloring the sound so I could not use it for that reason. I am willing to try the Asio setup to not go the hardware route but those things usually require a "step by step" for me to follow the instructions as was done with the Powair support in that thread.

I do not wish to frustrate anyone here with this so is there any particular forum I should join to try this out?

support forums for the OTSAV software, or an appropriate reddit community?

Ok, let me first try the OTS forum even though I highly doubt anyone there uses VST's which is why I mentioned it here, will let you know how it turns out, thx.

One member on the OtsAV forum said:
IF there is such a thing as a stand-alone program (rather than a VST) which has the effects you are looking for, you could go Output of Ots > VAC > effects > BAE input (assuming you are still using BAE)
BAE [Breakaway Audio Enhancer] is a compression utility I use which OTSAV's output is routed through it.

So, might there be a standalone fx software with reverbs/delays out there?

Post

Plenty. Several VSTs have their own standalone siblings too (Amplitube and T-racks for instance) - but tbh I do not really see the systematic difference to a VST host.
