Pre-Reason 12 release questions please:
1) do I need the companion app in order to run non prescription Reason 12 beta? (annoying it pops up every time I start Reason 12 beta) Seems like I automatically got set up with a Reason+ subscription without knowing it. Expires in 3 days.
2) is there a list of instruments that will be included in Reason 12?
3) I'm very interested in getting Parsec, Friktion and Alogoritm (they sound much much better than I imagined!). Will any of these be included in the release version of standard Reason 12?

1) no (but if you have a sub, you get that annoying pop up...)killmaster wrote: Sat Jul 17, 2021 5:15 pm Pre-Reason 12 release questions please:

2) only a new sampler will be included, it seems, perhaps a utility.. EDIT; so the list, is the same as Reason 11 + sampler, it seems..
3) friktion and algoritm you must buy, they are a part of reason+, that is the attraction of the sub, but if you count, friktion and algoritm in sale + reason 12 update, is cheaper.. i had to look it up, i have reason 11 suite, Parsec is also not included.
the reason (...) it are seperate RE's, as always. in sale they are worth it, i think. (don't have friktion or algoritm, by the way..)

Thanks! Super helpful. By the way, I deleted companion and couldn’t open reason beta after that without re-installing companion. Maybe cause the beta is sub?WasteLand wrote: Sat Jul 17, 2021 5:47 pm1) no (but if you have a sub, you get that annoying pop up...)killmaster wrote: Sat Jul 17, 2021 5:15 pm Pre-Reason 12 release questions please:

i think you must own 11 (suite), or a sub... for reason 12 beta? i think it is mentioned somewhere..killmaster wrote: Sat Jul 17, 2021 6:36 pmThanks! Super helpful. you need to install codemeter if you own Reason 11 and don't want to log on when you start it up.

1. Right now Companion is only required to run Reason+. That said you can check whether or not it launches and opens when you open R+. It’s not needed for Reason 11 perpetual licenses, but it is unknown whether or not Reason 12 perpetual (not sub) will require the install.killmaster wrote: Sat Jul 17, 2021 5:15 pm Pre-Reason 12 release questions please:

2. Combinator 2 (which has been confirmed is going to be pretty sweet), and a new creative sampler.
3. No. You either have to buy them separately for perpetual licenses or subscribe to Reason+.

My struggles with authorisation still continue. I have noticed that under my user account I have 2 instances of Reason 12 beta, but can’t see Reason +, hence I’m asked to login every time when I launch Reason.SLiC wrote: Sat Jul 17, 2021 10:29 am If for any reason it is not installed (I had to re-install once after demo Reason subscription) you can get it here: https://help.reasonstudios.com/hc/en-us ... r-Download
I think the subscription uses its own authoriser where as the perpetual licences uses above (but I may be wrong!)
I’ve submitted the ticket with support and awaiting their answer.

Friktion and Algoritm were instant buy yesterday! As much as I dislike the protection scheme, I really like those devices and the workflow in Reason!
Anyway, my love won in the end and I ended buying a 2nd hand license for Reason 10! I might upgrade to R12 later so I use the rack edition inside Bitwig or Live, although I think I can use Rewire still in Live with R10 but not sure if Live dropped Rewire in the latest version?
There is no use! I'm a polygamous person
so I've ended with 3 perfect working platforms (OSes) and at least 5 DAWs (I love them all
)

I am also just seeing the 12 beta rather than Reason+ but I am not sure if that is because the beta is more advanced (a later version) than Reason + I guess. To be honest with having Reason 11 suite, the Reason 12 beta and now Reason+ I am not sure what version(s) I should be seeing!Atlatnesiti wrote: Sun Jul 18, 2021 1:17 amMy struggles with authorisation still continue. I could delete the beta and download 12 via Reason+ installer, but I think I will wait until the next version with the sampler which is due next.

You bought them full price?! They're both awesome, but you should've waited for a 50% sale probably somewhere at the end of summer (usually). Too bad they don't do deal of the week anymore...EnGee wrote: Sun Jul 18, 2021 6:53 am Friktion and Algoritm were instant buy yesterday! I know, I created that poll. But it's reasonable the statistic would be similar for those that moved entirely away from Reason DAW.SLiC wrote: Fri Jul 16, 2021 3:03 pmI don't think this poll has anything to do with people leaving Reason completely for other DAWS?antic604 wrote: Fri Jul 16, 2021 1:35 pm
The +/- 50% was from a poll on RT: https://forum.reasontalk.com/viewtopic. ... &t=7520873
''Assuming that not everyone here work in Reason standalone exclusively, I was wondering which other DAW hosts your Reason Rack Plugin''
Live and/or Bitwig is a lot of peoples 'other' DAW!

Where the F is recycle? If they’re not going to release any updates they should open source it so that better developers can work on it.

Hmm, I don't agree at all....'if' you were moving from Reason completely as 'the DAW' wasn't strong enough (and that isn't what the poll says) I don't think you would move to Live- it has many strengths but its no better (and in many ways not as good) as Reason as a linear DAW.antic604 wrote: Sun Jul 18, 2021 4:27 pmI know, I created that poll. I doubt they'd open source it - as long as they own the tech, it's an opportunity for them to integrate more (if not all) of ReCycle's features into a full version Reason standalone upgrade. I can't imagine anyone on the planet buying ReCycle anymore - I would wager it barely contributes to RS's bottom line. I haven't bought a sound library for REX files in like... 12-13 years?masterhiggins wrote: Sun Jul 18, 2021 5:14 pm Where the F is recycle?
