Fans will obviously add noise to your environment, and nVidia's GTX cards are not designed to be "quiet" -- they're designed to be fast.
Might apply to GTX1060 and up, but i can say that my GTX 1050 is super quiet i can barely hear it, and its sitting on my table in an exposed external cradle.
Fair enough, but some people are already in a moderately noisy environment and don't want to add more to it -- or they're in a very quiet environment and didn't think about the new video card's fans disturbing that.

1060's are powerful enough for web graphics at 4k. But a 960 would really struggle. They're available but only relevant to 1080p. Nice for that though, even if some games require 1600 by 900 with one.

I have a good article coming regarding doing more with a gtx, whether 1050, 1060 or 960 etc. I'll be doing an interesting follow up with some interesting facts about rtx voice and I'll share very simple methods to go beyond overclocking and I'll point out drivers that are entirely without telemetry, and they're hackable in the way of maximum amounts of connections to nvenc, which is good news for 3d renderers and streamers.

The lack of telemetry was night and day, yet to test it with gaming however, catching up with that tonight.
I don't make audio products anymore. I sell furniture & smart products.
