"Downloaded Reason+ for $1 for 3 months."

Does that mean you can have Reason for 10 years and it will only cost you around £40 quid ? If I was long time Reason user, I'd feel rather shafted if that's the case.

No, it's the drug dealer come on, the first hit is free, or in this case $3. I'm guessing the uptake isn't as strong as expected.

No, it's actually $1/month for 3 months, then the full $20 once you've already started some projects with REs and devices you don't have :P

To be honest you cold make the same argument about the free demo for a month, but it doesn't stop me demoing!

If I am 'still' using an Re (or VST) after 3 months I am probably going to buy it anyway...(or stay subscribed). It's not like Reason is life or death for me, its just another tool in the box.

I am not sure if I will subscribe as I will own Suite 11 + 12, but I dint find the money or the 'not owning' things prohibitive, the reality is I have 100's of VST (and a few DAWS!) that I 'bought' and no longer use and I find selling things a bit of a chore...

I do want Algorithm and Pattern Mutator (the string would is nice, but not essential for me) and that will cost me around £100 in a sale I assume (that is wat it was in the last sale) but then who knows what else they will bring out in an entire year that I will want!

Anyway, the 3 months will tide me over...I am not doing anything until 12 is out and will then see what's included, what's on offer and decide what (if anything) to do! Until then I am really enjoying the weekly rack packs, much better than I expected.
X32 Desk, i9 PC, S88MK3, S1, BWS, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6 Pro3, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone II, OP1-F, OPXY, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

Not sure why my FACTUAL response warrants such a detailed feedback? ;)

But seriously I get it. I'm so in love with Reason DAW and hate the idea of R+ that I thought of sticking it to them & vote with my wallet: upgrade to 12 when it's out and buy Algoritm + Friktion + Pattern Mutator on nearest sale. That will show them and they'll regret their stupid ways!!! :dog:

Seeing that regroove mixer makes me think they are on to the right thing with hi res - then you notice the low res assets around it and it just brings it back home. They are releasing unfinished products as the new thing. It isn't even like early release where you know you're getting a beta, here you are being sold the real deal and then they're tagging on bits as they go. It is just really cheap but then I guess this is what you get for £3 for 3 months.

Then you have this online authorisation needing a internet connection for launch "but we are going to change this so you don't need a connection" rubbish. If you knew people wouldn't like it and didn't want to have this then why build it that way and launch it?

Pre release or early beta implementation has no place in a product being sold as a full complete finished product and certainly the props of old wouldn't have dreamt of shipping something like this.

:D Just trying self justify having everything now!

Ultimately I am undecided as I said, but I am not as principled as you and if they offered '12 licence holders' a yearly fee of $99 I would probably take it

The fact is you never know what they will do in the future, there may be a 13 suite with all the 'old' instruments like Algortym etc in...sometimes just sitting back and waiting (whilst still having stuff with a years subscription) can be a cheaper route to a permanent licence later!

I mean I was literally trying to keep it lighthearted, but since you're taking it there - yeah, you clearly have an issue that is affecting you alone, out of the tens of thousands of other people that seem to have it working just fine. :tu: :clown:

Vert weird- what DAW? VST3 issue? sometimes DAWs 'blacklist' things and it just needs resetting?
