this year? hmmm...
Powermac G5 2.5 to replace two P4s
Cubase SX3 upgrade
Halion 3
NI Komplete 2
Sonalksis Compressor
Korg MICROKontrol
2x ART Tube Channels
2x R0DE mics
lots of cables
Behringer balanced patch bay
CAVS Shuttle Pro
and the plans for next year so far only involve hunting down a USB interface for my S5000 or getting a Z4 to replace it. really not sure what to do yet.

It'd be easier to list what I *didn't* buy, software-wise, but here it is!
Software:
Kubik
Wusikstation + TSW soundset
Voxengo Mastering Suite
Voxengo Lampthruster
z3ta + Pentagon I
Cameleon 5000
M42
Goldwave
Every Rhino soundset from Daniel
Hardware:
Behringer Ultra-Voice VX2000
Behringer V-Amp Pro
Behringer V-Amp Bass Pro
Shure SM58 mic
Misc:
4 CDs of drum loops/hits from Beta Monkey Music
Yes, I rebuilt my personal studio from a pile of cheap stuff to a pile of less cheap stuff! Made a huge difference in sound quality, actually, although the impact on my time in having to learn to use all this new stuff isn't insignificant as I'm still coming up to speed on all of this kit.

Hm...gee, from looking at my CC statements I am spending an awful amount of money on the bank's annual profit.
Plus I spent money on:
Software......
FL Studio (upgraded from PE to XXL)
Sytrus
Ableton Live 4
Wusikstation (+ DopeTwistas kit)
Hardware......
PodXT (plus all add-on packs)
FCB1010 MIDI floorboard
Used (and dirt cheap) Behringer Eurorack UB802 mixer
ESI M4U MIDI interface
Cheap Behringer mic w/stand
lots of cables
Upgraded my PC from Athlon 2000+ to Athlon 3200+, sold the old cpu+mb and actually came out on the plus side (ebay is great)
...and I just ordered a pair of brand spanking new KRK V4 Series 2 monitors...
...on my wish list, "might" come true this year...
*mastering software
*Absy3 upgrade
*new harddrive
And before I forget: Xbox and recently HALO 2.
(Ouch, this post hurts! Must find something to sell! Anyone want a wife and two kids? Together or separately? Can come with car.)

I bought pretty near any damn thing somebody released, it seems. This is what I can gather from tracing back the path of destruction (i.e. the credit card statements and my plugins folders).
The scary part is I still feel like I've left stuff out, I guess that's from all the awesome freeware that you various devs make available.
I've been thinking about next year making sure I buy (or have bought) one product from every dev whose forum is here on KVR (kind of like visiting every major league ballpark).
It occurs to me that if some enterprising dev would write a VST plugin that just takes money out of my credit card account and emails me keys, you could make the process more efficient by cutting out the middle man (me).

Just because of you bastiches in here, I'm now the proud owner of Kubik and Komplete 2. Oh, and the Kjaerhus Gold bundle.
I think Bazzoid (registered) is next... I'm about tapped!
Time to actually make some music.

I bought that in 2002. I was worried that it wouldn't be compatible with my system but turned out to be the best thing I bought all yearmorelia wrote:...
and last but not least an engagement ring.
Took my credit card over 12 months to recover though

Hmmm, this year mostly hardware, oddly...
Chapman Stick
Event TR8N nearfield monitors
Moog MuRF pedal
Peterson VS-II strobe tuner
A new desk for my studio
Some AC adapters for my various pedals (for some reason little crap like this excites me gear-wise
)
2005 should be interesting as I actually have some live gigs starting up again (bass, Stick and vocals with a local acoustic trio), but I get the feeling there will be a bit of a gear-buying slowdown in general since we're trying to finally buy a house...
