Noob here.

Dexed standalone successfully installed and working with mouse on the screen keys. My Yamaha 'digital piano' is plugged in to PC via USB and shown as the 'Active MIDI Input' in the Dexed 'Options' panel.

No response from Yamaha piano keys. What should I check for?

(and is the UI scalable? It is so small - even on a 24" HD screen...)

Thanks in advance!

Is the piano directly plugged into USB, or do you have an adapter connecting them

I've never heard of an interface called active midi input, that sounds like a stock option

Have you used this piano with any software yet, maybe try something more mainstream, I wasn't aware dexed had a standalone

Thanks. Yes, I downloaded the CS 80v demo from Arturia and my Yamaha digital piano worked fine with USB. If I unplug the USB, Dexed shows nothing in the Options panel so it must see the USB piano.

Dexed standalone might be a very recent release. I really don't want to go down the whole DAW route...

I found it! You actually have to check the green button on 'digital piano' in the Options>MIDI Settings>Active MIDI inputs (same as 'active output channels' is checked by default.

OK cool. I've only used Dexed as a plugin, so my daw host covered the midi driver.

Just realised the immensely powerful 'Fairlight' which is bundled with DaVinci Resolve is a fully fledged DAW too. As I use Resolve for all my video work, it may be worth exploring Fairlight's VST import capabilities.
