Are there any recommendations for good quality sound receivers or microphones? I find that the video or audio I record always has a lot of noise. My budget is around £50 preferably not more than £80.

what's a sound receiver? that's not a term i recognise as having anything to do with making music. is it a radio?

That's a bit too vague to base any solid advice on.Tony Hamalainen wrote: Tue Jul 20, 2021 7:29 amI find that the video or audio I record always has a lot of noise.
Could you please describe your current recording process? What do you record, and how?
Especially all the hardware: what's used and how is it connected.
That will give us better ideas what to do to improve the quality.

I couldn't really recommend a microphone for under £80 though as BertKoor requested, we need to know the application to make best recommendations. It would definitely help if you can increase your budget.Tony Hamalainen wrote: Tue Jul 20, 2021 7:29 am Are there any recommendations for good quality sound receivers or microphones? I'm very sorry for the late reply, I meant like a microphone, but more professional than a microphone kind, can better gather the sound as well as remove the noise.whyterabbyt wrote: Tue Jul 20, 2021 8:16 am what's a sound receiver? that's not a term i recognise as having anything to do with making music. is it a radio?

I do some fun DIY on my own, and there are times when I need to record outdoors, so I wish the sound of my narration could be clearer.BertKoor wrote: Tue Jul 20, 2021 9:08 amThat's a bit too vague to base any solid advice on.Tony Hamalainen wrote: Tue Jul 20, 2021 7:29 amI find that the video or audio I record always has a lot of noise.

If you're going to be recording outdoors, I think I'd actually suggest a lavalier mic.Tony Hamalainen wrote: Mon Jul 26, 2021 10:11 am I do some fun DIY on my own, and there are times when I need to record outdoors, so I wish the sound of my narration could be clearer.
We've started using Zoom F1s, which are a tiny little field recorder which comes with a lavalier. But they're outside your budget. If you already have a recorder, then you can buy lavalier's on their own.
