Haven't had much time to really use abl3 lately but man when I use it, this thing rocks! Loaded a techno preset, used the notes it had, and used those for a random pattern. That randomizer is handy. As far as getting ABL3 to output midi notes, can't figure it out on Bitwig, but so far just use the pattern bank and use notes to trigger it. So far that's been working good but would be cool to get minor swing. And speaking of the lack of swing to emulate original; this thing features a ton of stuff that TR303 didnt have so.... lol. But as far as sound...jeez, this vst really puts out some fat warm sounds. Great purchase. I swear, I can listen to 303 baselines all day.

Any tips on making good sequences? I noticed a lot of songs use C/C#, F#, A#, E in -1/+1 range. Just putting those parameters in randomizer yields great stuff.

I'm not too familiar with Bitwig, but are you using it as a VST or AU? Only the VST can output Midi.

As I'm fiddling a bit with ABL3 at the moment (I really like it)... can anyone tell me what the MIDI trigger mode means exactly? You can switch between Host Sync mode and MIDI trigger mode, and I'm a bit confused what those do, as ABL3 is ALWAYS sync'd to the host tempo. Any ideas?

Edit: Nevermind, it's in the manual, under "Sync modes".

For similar money you can could always get a hardware analogue 303 from Behringer!

OK, its hardware so it wont do as much, but you can't get more authentic, zero CPU drain and you can play it whilst sitting on the toilet
