I recorded this a couple of months back, it's a cover of a song you probably wont know.

What is the idea to make a poor cover version on a track being totally unknown as of 1996?

Post

I think her's works because it minimalistic, her elements are low in the mix and her voice is the main focus by a mile.
You've got a very good voice, and you've got that intimacy nailed down well.
But I think that ubiquitous synth pad with the slow attack which swells is damaging the mix a lot. It needs to be out of the way (panned, lowered, removed).

an-electric-heart,
You'd better write your own song, than to make a cover on that of doubtful value.

Agree with Bensaw.

An easy fix might work - try side chain compressing the pad with your vocal. I really love the expressions in your vocal and they shouldn't be smeared by the stationary pad.

This feels like a creed song made into a soft rock song, its cool i dont mind it, as its not my style of music i don't know what i can really ad .

Like with above posts the vocals are def drowned out, so they need to come through, also maybe making duplicates to create a chorus of people at parts of the song, or even some delay to spice it up.

Hope this helps in some way :)

Cheers guys. I'll look at the mix again. I do kind of consider this what I would call a 'B-Side', as I said I recorded it very quickly, then didn't even do anything with, except put in on my secondary Soundcloud account and post it here. I'm aware of the fact that it's not exactly a master-piece.

I found it quite nice. The acoustic sounds good.. well done.
