I switched from MOTU AVB to Dante last year but yes, each computer can use I/O from AVB/Dante interfaces and you can route audio between computers. In fact with Dante, you don't need an interface to route audio between computers on the network. You can use the Dante Virtual Soundcard: https://www.audinate.com/products/softw ... -soundcard.

In the Dante Controller, you will see the I/O that is available for all devices on the network, listed in a matrix. You can route any input to several outputs but only each output can only have one source (you can work around this with various interfaces which have DSP mixers).

Ok, double nekro, but maybe this helps someone else. In my quest to move away from multiple audio interfaces and towards networked audio between my studio computers I have found very little useful discussion on how to make this work well with AVB. I have been using Dante's software products for sometime and have thought about committing to Dante hardware, but damn is it tediously expensive. What I wanted to know, and have a clear answer to, is whether Macs can be an endpoint in an AVB network. If so, this means that networking a number of macs via a pricy AVB switch isn't that bad of an investment because each network port becomes a multi-channel interface. While I've read forum posts that this is indeed possible, as I have no other AVB hardware, I didn't want to tear apart my network and setup just to experiment with this without a solid answer.

This video shows how it is done, tl;dr: yes you can.
