I've never had the joy of playing any of their PSS range. They had individual sensitivities for each voice didn't they? So each voice could be made to play differently within a patch. And individual filters per voice etc. Those buggers must have been awesome beasts.

I always thought the Korg MS range (including the PSS modulars) were the absolute height of synth GUI design. They're just the sort of synth you imagine when you hear Dr. Who and all those weird sci-fi noises and music. Even though the BBC used other synths.
They look like real synths that mad scientists would use.

Nowadays they usually look too clinical and pretty or organised.

I have an MS-20 (the real one, not the VSTi). I've always felt that it was *okay* on its own, but its real strength lies in patching other synths through its modular connections. One of my favorite things is running a bass guitar through it and making interesting synth drum sounds.
