Hello folks,

I've been working on a new series of reverbs effects for the past year now, targeting ambient sounds with long tails and slow modulations, they come in three flavours:

- BLZ-Mauve (https://blz.sbrk.org/mauve), a chorused reverb,
- BLZ-Coral (https://blz.sbrk.org/coral), an echoing reverb
- BLZ-Amber (https://blz.sbrk.org/amber), a pitchshifted reverb.

I initially worked on this project for my own sounds, and ended up transforming them in plug-ins. Internals come from studying DSP literature and experiments of my own, trying to push algorithm pieces in weird directions until it sounds interesting. I've tried to keep the design clean and responsive.

They are available as a free demo with a 30 seconds limit on DAW tracks, or can be bought to unlock them (25€ each, 60€ for the pack of three); it's likely a better idea to try them first as this is an early release (tested on Logic, Live, FL & Cubase, but I may have missed little issues).

Supported formats:

Windows: VST3 (signed installers)
Mac OS: VST3, AU (compatible with Catalina and Big Sur x86, signed packages)

Though I've tried to make the installation process simple, I'm aware some antivirus softwares don't recognise the installers yet, so if you are the very first to run them, you may have to struggle a bit more (once it is in the database of your antivirus, others will benefit from your initial scan). Sorry for this in advance.

Feel more than welcome to give it a shot @ https://blz.sbrk.org/ (https://blz.sbrk.org/) ; any feedback or suggestion would be very helpful! I hope I didn't miss anything huge but I expect to have some homework based on your feedbacks.

Welcome to the wonderful world of macPOS plugin dev.... the 3 reverbs do not work on my mac. 2010 mac pro macPOS 10.13.6 Reaper 6. I installed all 3, both AU and VST. In Reaper only the AU show up and when I load them they load "red" meaning they did not validate. I tried re-installing and re-booting still same thing. Also the VST do not show up in Reaper. With Unify I tried scanning the VSTs and they wont load, with an error. The AUs also don't show up.

I'd love to try them though....

Hello,

Thanks for trying! I'm trying to set-up a VM with High Sierra/Mojave to reproduce but it may take me a while to get there as I have a slow internet connection and likely have to download a lot to get a working development environment (I've tried it on Catalina and Big Sur, but didn't go as far as High Sierra/Mojave). I'll let you know how it goes.

Im not really in the market for ambient reverbs, but being on KVR I of course have some comments to make :D
  • absolute respect for having signed installers on Windows from the start! There still several plugin companies, even ones that exist for ages, who don’t.
  • GUI is looking good!
  • Regarding possible antivirus problems: why don’t you just upload your installers to virustotal? You’ll at least know whether some engines flag them as malware and can maybe act on it.
  • https://blz.sbrk.org/? Why do you hate vowels??? :o

Hello,

I've just released v1.0.3 which should be fine under Mojave and High Sierra; this release also adds support for Apple M1, Apple installers are available here:
This release also includes manuals which can be found here:
  • AmberFx manual (https://blz.sbrk.org/static/blz-static/amber-1.0.3.pdf)
  • CoralFx manual (https://blz.sbrk.org/static/blz-static/coral-1.0.3.pdf)
  • MauveFx manual (https://blz.sbrk.org/static/blz-static/mauve-1.0.3.pdf)
You can still find more information on the BLZ website (https://blz.sbrk.org/); plug-ins are also now available on the KVR shop.

There is no change for Windows in this version; I'm taking into account the feedback I have received so far and experimenting with some ideas for a future v1.1 release. Demos of the plug-ins in action and articles about reverb designs are coming as well :).

I'm also planning on adding support for GNU/Linux, in case some folks are interested in trying them there, feel free to reach out  .

@fese: Thanks for the kind words! I'll try VirusTotal when I release a new Windows version.

Cool... giving them another try....

The work for me on macPOS 10.13 and Reaper 6. I use the AU. they sound interesting and will continue to demo.

The trail message says something about being 30 seconds time limited. 30 seconds? what is this for because they work for longer than 30 seconds.

Thanks for trying them out! The limitation is in DAWs (i.e: if you go past 30 seconds of your track the effect is muted) ; but you can play freestyle as long as you want if you are paused inside the 30 seconds area of your track.

Why not have one plugin with packs as extras?

The GUI look very good :)

Or just have it all in one plugin as one product? From a workflow perspective I find it tedious to switch between them when I am experimenting to find one that sounds best. what I've been doing is picking one and sticking it with even if another would be better, because I am too in the mode of creating to bother messing with plugins. If it was all in one plugin it would solve this workflow issue.
