arranger keyboard style midi in DAWs?

DAW users are not typically arranger keyboard users.
The big 3 will never release anything on PC that's equivalent to even their low tier arrangers. This market is hugely profitable for them. lots of older folks who don't use computers, kids, you name it.
There's a PC based arranger called vArranger. It's expensive, but well established and has a community.

But probably Korg will step in and make a simple "Pa" app.. Why not, they already ported most of their hardware products into the software domain.

can band in a box work now in realtime ?. so when press a chord or use one note chord feature and it change pad and bass to fit the chord. and is it possible in realtime that band in a box can change in next bar the pattern ?. arranger keyboards have diffrent patterns they are called , variation 1 /2 man 1 / 2 /fill 1/2

I never work live. Always transfer Biab and Realband backing arrangement to Cakewalk daw so don't really know about realtime.
There's this free backing arrangement software called Jjazzlab, It's a standalone but there are possibilities to save as midi and one can use the (recommended) VirtualMIDISynt software to save the sound to wav.
It uses Yamaha-type of styles. I reacted to your mention of variations. Yamaha have these main/filler/break variations for their styles.

Because it's free and opensource one could install it and try to achieve what ones after by testing and maybe use some scripting.

The best Arranger software I have found is giglad. It is Windows only with a Mac version planned in the future. But unfortunately it is not a VST only standalone.

It supports VST and VST3 plug-ins. It also looks very intuitive unlike One Man Band. It has a great style editor and takes .sty styles.

It is actively being developed and improved.

One man band is great, but I can't figure out how to create styles on it. Also it looks ugly. lol

Also One Man Band 12 VST support is confusing. I cannot figure out how to have presets for it. And their Documentation is not very helpful in my case.

I can't figure out how to load a style and it be ready to go and ready for performance.

vArranger is really good too. But it doesn't have a style editor or creator. Which is a deal breaker for me. You have to jump through so many hoops to create custom styles for varranger, that it's not worth the money for me.

I don't see Korg, Yamaha or any other big company moving in this space, till their is a viable alternative and a viable threat to the market.

The only reason Korg is releasing VST plug-ins for their Legacy workstation synths is because of the high competition of other similar products.

It basically adds an auto-accompaniment mechanism to your DAW, by making the MIDI tracks in your DAW chord-responsive, as the internal tracks in an arranger.

It comes in two VST components, a chord detection plugin and a transposing plugin.
You place the chord detection plugin on a track where you input your keyboard, you place one transposer on each track you want to respond to chords and that's it. All the notes written on a transposer MIDI track will be transposed in real time to match the chords you play on your keyboard.
With these components you can construct an arranger in your DAW the way you like. For the outputs you can choose your virtual instruments or output MIDI to your external instruments, exactly how you usually do in your DAW.

It's a lot of work, but... it's very rewarding in the end.

Chords are being generated, the bass is following...

I'm changing instruments via foot pedal FCB1010 or midi CC messages on my keyboard controller...
And I modified my Kronos to send Midi CCs when changing songs , but that's not really necessary

Hello, I searched for long time for a solution, how to get an (auto) accompaniment workflow in order to improvise on styles and midi files.
So I tested all available software which is available on the market (I guess). The most software solutions were to complicated for me. I don't want program chord progressions. I only want to load a style or midi file and improvise on it. So I don't play along songs to produce cover versions.
After testing all the software solution for me actual Giglad might be the best solution.
It is easy to revoice the style parts/tracks with VST instruments. So the styles sounds much better on the end than in the hardware keyboards.
Withs styles this works pretty good.
With MIDI files the results are only sometimes useable in order to improvise on chords. Mostly the included track have to much melody included, that it sounds mostly strange then improvising on chords.
Do you have an idea, who to manipulate MIDI files in order to improvise free like on styles?
