They are using the latest versions released probably?
Access Virus B v4.9
Access Virus C/KC/Indigo v6.6. However. According to the official Access Virus website the latest version available for download is 6.5 (under Downloads/Discontinued products/Operating systems) - but the Synthesizer ROM Archive website says it's v6.6. I checked the .bin file and for sure it says 6.6. This is a bit weird.
Anyone knows why there is no 6.6 update available from Access website?

looking forward to messing with this when the GUI drops :)

Not much difference in performance here on my 4th generation i7 with the new version. Pretty much unusable for pads or high poly count with the Virus C ROM. The most demanding VSTi in my arsenal, it's not even close. Several times heavier on the CPU than Diva for example. If the emulator can not be further heavily optimized, it's not an option for outdated CPU's. I wonder, without the overhead of the emulation, how demanding on the CPU would a Virus C be, in native format. :)

Sooo much. This is the only soft synth development to get me excited synths Plogues portaFM.

I hope this lives up to my expectations, haven't read any of the thread. But if I can have a Walford MW on my laptop with a good GUI I will be very happy.

I read on the Discord that the ARM processor version is not ready yet. And the Raspberry Pi likely wont be powerful enough to run it as is at present until further optimizations are found. Some people with much more powerful AMD processors are struggling with CPU spikes.

Cheers mate, you saved me alot of time there :)

I made a 64 bit -> 64 bit JBridged version of the emu to see what would happen. The CPU core load dropped dramatically making the Virus C playable with big pads on my 9900k DAW. Only downside is that the JBridged version doesn't accept patch sysex from an editor. Still it's great for browsing the Virus C presets.

I read on another forum that there's a test version of JBridge that supports sysex so I've requested a copy to test.

Update: I was sent the test JBridge and it works like a charm receiving sysex sent from the Mystery Islands editor. It makes the DSP emu Virus C useable here for big pads.

Can't wait for the GUI Version, which should be available soon.

Yeah I’m waiting for that too, somehow it’s not easy to setup with logic. Is there any source for a setup with logic?

Hello again :)

I just wanted to say thank you to everybody whos supporting this project and extra thanks to the people who have donated, we used some of this money to buy a Raspberry Pi which enabled us to work on the ARM version of the Emulator

Im now proud to say we now officially support the Mac M1 :)

Supergood news! Which rpi model will this work with? I´m intending to try with 4B, but curious about if it also runs on for instance the previous generation.

Unfortunatley the Pi isnt powerful enough to run the Emulator, the ARM support was intended for the Apple M1

I have the emulator installed on my M1 mac mini, loads up fine, I can hear a preset, obviously I cannot edit anything until I have an editor installed.

However......for windows you need loopmidi setup, but what about OSX? What program should I download to set up the emulator so I can use an editor in Ableton?

Post

Nevermind, I was able to get it to work with a max4live editor
