Predator 2 is still the main one as the more I play with it, the more I like. It has this nice round organic soft trim in the sound. It also can do the opposite (harsh sounds). I don't know how they can best Predator 2 sound! It is almost the perfect VA out there (better than Sylenth1 and Hive2 IMO, because it has FM and sync which can change the sound a lot more).

Well, I couldn't resist anymore! So, I bought RG (discounted now) and then upgraded to Explorer 6 for $199 (UP from two products). It also includes a free upgrade to Explorer 7

Do give the other RP synths a good try, Go2, Vecto, Quad and Blade 2 cover a wide area. I like using the recordable XY pads in combination with the arps to get great rhythmic effects and modulated sequences.

also check out Punch2. highly under-appreciated with a very unique approach to drum sequencing.
and Go2 has a cool sequencer which includes playing chords on any step. i also like the way you can use key entry to "record" into the sequencer. a much faster way of setting it up that i wish other developers would adopt.
lastly, rob and jon offer first class support with an efficient system for reporting issues and very fast response times.

Yes indeed! The support is first class. I have requested a download link for Prisma (because of old glitch in my account I think, it is no more) and I got a direct link after few minutes! Also they sent me the "DelSane" serial free
All are fantastic tools and synths. I know Blue, Predator and Blade from the past. I had also Go2 for a while, but the others I have no idea. Anyway, I'm very impressed with B.I.T! Such a wonderful vintage sound! Punch2 is also a great drum machine with different workflow from other drum machines. Well, there is a lot to explore and learn, but what I like the most is there is a good balance between complexity and usability. Once Rob Papen explains it in his videos, it makes sense and can't be forgotten! So, learning is fast and enjoyable

Predator 2 is worth it without any upgrade. Don't we get to keep Predator 2 after the update anyway? I still have Predator with no Danny Gloverbriefcasemanx wrote: Fri Aug 06, 2021 2:11 pm Sucks that predator 2 (starring Danny Glover) is on sale before we can hear how 3 sounds. Definitely not buying 2 just to upgrade to a synth I can't hear.

I can use Predator RE in Studio One but it's still so ugly, I don't use it all now. 9 years ago I made little live recorded track with it. I do find Predator to be rather dry and sterile sounding though.

i'd like to see some kind of layering in
Pred3. the one albino3 had was almost ok.
So that would be cool to handle 3-4 different pred3 in a single patch.

I'm after downloading the predator 2 demo
But the GUI is to big for my laptop I hope this is fixed as I'd like to score version 3 .
Also is this a problem with other rob papen synths? As the explorer bundle looks great .

Most of the plugins have two sizes. One original (old) and one is called "big" you tick on the back.
The nice thing with the bundle is that they give you the old versions as well! For example you get Predator 1 and Predator 2, Blue 1.9 and 2.0 ...etc.
For my monitor (1440p) I use the big screen, but for my laptop I use the smaller version. I even could use the smaller version on the bigger monitor as I can see the parameters ok.

What issue?
Predator 1 also comes with two sizes.
I believe it is better to download the demo and see how it fits on your screen. On my monitor I don't have problem (32") but on my MacBook Air 13" I use Predator 1 (big size) and Predator 2 (the small size). So, in general I don't have a problem as I can find something fit on my two screens
Here is a screenshot of two sizes of Predator 2 and one size of Predator 1 (the old one). The big size of Predator 1 is about between the two sizes of Predator 2 (I'm too lazy to boot into my Mac now!):
