ML8000 by McDSP

Anyone using this limiter? McDSP are well regarded but I know nothing about their plugins and I saw they have a summer sale going on now.

So any info on how this performs, I'd appreciate it.

I use it. It's nice. However its very complex and allows for a lot of control over the limiting across up to 8 bands. I've since moved to a simpler limiter but that doesn't discount ML8000. Its a pretty cool good sounding limiter with a lot of flexibility but along with complexity. If you have a need for a multi-band limiter designed as both a track and buss/mastering limiter it would be a good choice.

Thanks, have you used the L3 from waves? Does it stack up against it? I'd assume the ML8000 has more options.

Tbh I think a more simple limiter is better for me. I like the idea of having a lot of control but don't think I've the knowledge to get full use from it.

ML8000 is one of the more complex limiters. however you can ignore the mutli-band limiting and use it a simple full band limiter. the limiter has two stages and you can even just use the main limiting stage. so its quiet flexible. but you would need to learn its feature to make use of the simpler workflows. but its a good option to have for a limiter with 8 bands of dynamica and its dual limiter stage. The only other limiter which compares is DMG Limitless which is the one I use now for mastering. But, I don't use the multi-band that much, however it is nice to have the option.
