Remaking thread. I recently got set up to finger drum with a drum VST (Geist) and am looking for some lightweight, natural sounding, acoustic kits I can drag and drop into it. It would be for alt/indie rock music. Got a couple of suggestions (Addictive Drums, a Sennheiser plugin), and just looking to gather a few more before I dive in and pick something.

Any recs appreciated, thanks!

I've never used Geist, but it's probably not right for realistic acoustic drums. If you're "set up for finger drumming", I presume that means you have drum pads or a midi controller, then in that case you're set-up to send midi, and there are better things out there that are better designed for realistic acoustic drums.
The key to sampled acoustic drums sounding realistic is different samples per velocity layer, and multiple samples per velocity layer, and randomization of samples (round robin). Can you set all that up in Geist?
Again, It's probably better to use a VST that's actually specifically designed for acoustic drums.

Ah, gotcha :/
I just picked Geist because I really liked the GUI and knew I wanted a 16 pad layout. Do you know of some other VSTs that might be more suited for acoustic drums but still have that 16 pad/MPC layout?

I'd give 'Steven Slate Free' a go. It sounds like you're new, so it might not work right away, it might take you doing a couple of things for the midi from your device to talk to it correctly, but even then, Slate is easier that other things set up.
I use the paid version of Steven Slate Drums, it's probably my favorite, and I've tried them all.
