Because my intent is not to use Reaper, I am only using Reaper as an experiment for this, my intent is to use this same principle with another DAW, does this answer your question or is this going to turn into another negative thread? The guys here have given me the help I had asked for and you could not leave it alone? You had to add your own negativity to this? Wow.

Sorry, didn't want to sound negative, just (really)surprised that after 17 years here somebody could ask such a basic question. What DAWs/hosts you used all those years?

I didn't know that I could do this until recently, but I was also using an ANCIENT version of Cubase for the past decade+ so maybe it wasn't possible to do it on that.xx JPRacer xx wrote: Thu Aug 12, 2021 6:11 am You're a member here since 2004 and you didn't know this?!? Just... wow.

To clarify guys, I don't wish to run both effects at the same time, I just need to have them on the screen as I am currently trying to find a DAW or VST "Host" which will allow me to run my software MP3 player's audio through it so I can apply the fx in the VST Host over the audio.
Then, whenever and "if" this can be possible then my final experiment will be to trigger from my phone any of the 2 fx on the screen using macros with a program like Eventghost. So I will need to have both fx being visible on the screen at all times for the macros commands to be possible.

What mp3 player are you using? Some players support plugins that allow vsts. It would be simpler than going through Reaper. You can also try something at the system level. I think you're on mac, so maybe something like this: https://eqmac.app/
I'm on PC so I don't know how good it is but on PC Equalizer APO is a must.

It's not as simple as it sounds unfortunately, I have tried a few different options on different forums and nothing has worked so far. One guy told me only way this might be possible is if I can add an external sound card, he is presently trying to get his to work.xx JPRacer xx wrote: Fri Aug 13, 2021 9:15 pm What mp3 player are you using? I use OTSAV and sometimes Mediamonkey. I haven't found any worthwhile MP3 player which can host vst's. The few that might doesn't have the features of those 2 mentioned.

If you want to run the output of one lot of software through Reaper then you need a virtual audio cable like https://vb-audio.com/Cable/ There are a few of these around - you could even use JackAudio I think.mikehende wrote: Fri Aug 13, 2021 9:26 pmIt's not as simple as it sounds unfortunately, I have tried a few different options on different forums and nothing has worked so far.
