What is this update about? There is no info at Korg.com

Aside from joysticks and X/Y pads, has there ever existed a MIDI controller that has something like the "log" wheel (wheel 3) of the Prophecy? Something with a Ribbon on a wheel? I do miss that from my hardware Prophecy. Curious if there's anything like it out there

The good news is that it is present on the softsynth, too, so you can experience it all over again and realise that it is exactly an X-Y pad in a very tactile package.

i think it’s just a typo. the video is just a preset walkthrough - of presets that have been there from the year dot. there’s nothing I can see that talks about how the newer version is different: the version number of the plug-in seems totally irrelevant to what the video’s doing. this guy seems to do it a lot. the zebra2 one is tagged “2.9.3” but seems to show presets from older releases.

Only the bug in the Triton with the PCMcards combinations really annoys me and will hopefully be repaired by KORG very soon And Soft Pass as well as Prophecy with global polyphony on and off, they are welcome to update as soon as possible.

Question folks : ...the upgrade from korg legacy to korg collection 3 is supposed to cost 200 $ right ?

Just checked my emails, sorry but the Korg sale ended yesterday. Looks like it was only 2 weeks. Hate that, should make it a month so people paid monthly can budget for it rather than have to dip into savings or get credit.

That is actually a good question; turns out the manual does not really explain much when it comes to assignable controls. The fact that Slider/External have no visual feedback makes it all the more confusing to me.

I think they are supposed to emulate a couple extra modulation sources from the hardware workstation: Slider could be one of the faders on the front panel, External...sounds like another generic continuous control; there are two assignable pedals in the back panel so maybe it's one of those. It'd be great if someone with first-hand experience of the hardware Triton could confirm this.

Okay now you got me curious, found this digging through the hardware manual - which is thankfully included with the software:

Slider:CC#18 (Value Slider: CC#18)
When Program mode P0: “Program Select” or Combination
mode P0: “Combination Select” are selected, the [VALUE]
slider will function as a controller corresponding to CC#18.

Foot SW:#82 (Foot Switch: CC#82)
If you wish to use an assignable foot switch as an AMS, set
“Foot Switch Assign” (Global P2: Controller 2–1a) to Foot
SW (CC#82) (☞“Foot Switch Assign”).
The effect will be controlled when you operate a foot switch
etc. connected to the ASSIGNABLE SWITCH jack.

Soo...I guess I was pretty much correct in my assumption? It's still somewhat vague in regards of what responds to CC#83 but it's probably just the other assignable pedal.

I had a korg m3.. never had a Triton. My homie had one still and he tried to get me to buy it I'm told him good luck Triton came out with the software. Korg was 2nd favorite behind motif. Fantom being the one workstation I had but actually didn't like at all. Although, since it's been years I'd probably appreciate it much more now.
