I've tried using it live once, using some velocity switches, to trigger various sounds/articulations and it didn't go as expected (out of my own fault, of course:) ) - in the studio we get along fine and i manage to control my playing fine; but on stage (probably because of the adrenaline, energy, emotions, etc) i seem to smash the keys harder - sometimes to match the guitar player who constantly needs to turn himself louder
For a regular keyboard player's needs it might be more trouble than needed...i'm thinking in a band playing live you don't need keyswitches and tons of articulations, but more bread and butter stuff (Acoustic pianos, an assortment of electric and digital pianos, some hammond clones, maybe a clavinet or two, brass, strings, pads and synth leads).
Of course, provided the band has guitar and bass players...
