EDIT: Still have a lot more to learn about modulability of different parts of the algorithms but I’m having an amazing time with even stupidly simple algos and using the ER generators as interwoven-delays with different amounts of diffusion and modulated ER tap positions, my god what a sound design tool. I’m going for MTurboReverb for sure, though it’s a lot less straightforward for rhythmic delays for now. I don’t doubt there’s a systematic way to approach it for that nor that Timeless would be a lot easier to use for that

I’m having a hard time deciding between Timeless and MTurboReverb for use as all of a creative delay, reverb, and early reflections creator. Going to need to spend some serious time with the demos; the routing between ERs and LRs is going to be a big deal, and how much can take place inside of the feedback loop that can be modulated by controls.

Processing several instruments (cellos, pad, drums) with a custom preset in Timeless 3 which freezes the signal every 4 beats, tweaking the installed Macros on the fly.

Awesome sound demos in here. Finally had the chance to demo it myself. Not a must have plugin nowadays imo but oh boy what an improvement and that made me buy the upgrade. Saw it being used as delay and reverb of course, I had my fun using it as glitch & tapestop machine similar to Sampleconstructs video in the post before. Well it definitely deserves the image as creative delay.
I agree there could be visual improvments like font colors. Though I have to say after using the knobs 1 or 2 times you don't really look at tooltips or titles anymore. You know what they do.

Yay, it's sale time! My upgrade price went down from 38.15 to 28.61 EUR. How can I say no now?

What? How did your price go down? Mine stayed the same... did you purchase just the one license?e@rs wrote: Mon Jul 12, 2021 10:21 am Yay, it's sale time! My upgrade price went down from 38.15 to 28.61 EUR. How can I say no now?

I haven't purchase it yet, but yeah, with just Timeless 3 upgrade selected I get the above reduced price. It makes sense, as an additional 25% off.

I demoed it quite a bit when it was released and knew that I wanted to have it, just wanted to wait for the summer sale. So I bought it (before seeing this thread). In my account, I see that there are "additional" discounts (in red) on all the products I don't own yet, so somehow it must have been applied. However I could have bought it for 50€ before the sale and now I still paid 50€. But anyway... it's a fantastic delay and just playing with it again for the past hour or so has been an absolute blast, so worth it either way.

I’d still get Valhalla Delay first. Always. Timeless3 has taken over on the experimental side. I’ve uninstalled all other delays but these two.

I also have a "system critics" about Fabfilter: I somehow find timeless 3 is a fail. It uses a TON of cpu... Why, it still only is a delay. Can't really feel analog "warmth" either. Then what for those high the CPU usage? Wasn't it coded in C++ anymore, but some macro language? Then the tap settings are quite limited. e.g. seems to be impossible to design each taps panning, filtering etc individually. The gui design is as always outstanding but then not used in its potential. So the left tap view seems to mostly waste a lot of space only, barely providing any actual functionality. Looks to me like an overdesigned product. I think Valhalla sounds eons better... Also regarding plugin latency, I actually find that Fabfilter gone a weird way: Pro L2 and Pro C2 use ton of PDC, in most modes. It makes those plugins barely usable in live and composition phase, or as creative dsps. 40ms latency is a total no go for a compressor, guys. max might be 5ms or something. I once used Pro L1 and Pro C1, those plugins had a low latency and sounded very good, too.
So I wish that those modes in Pro-C2 and L2 would be completely removed and replaced with actual fine grained extra parameters, also a "quality" setting or something, giving back PDC a lot. I think nobody needs 32768x oversampling.

Pro C2 is zero latency in all modes unless you enable lookahead or oversampling...
I use both Pro-MB and Pro-C2 live, and very often track with Pro-C2.
Why would you need 32768x oversampling at composition phase?
Pro-L2 is not meant as a tracking limiter.
Get Voxengo EbusLim (23 samples - 0,5ms) or LoudMax (free, 55 samples - 1,25ms), that's designed for such a job.
Timeless 3 is not a multitap delay, neither is marketed as one, so it's lack of multitap functionality is expected.
It's been my go-to delay since it came out, i find it fast and versatile. Timeless 2 was never my go-to.

Not entering into an argument; I'm just curious about this statement. Among the key features listed by Fabfilter for Timeless 3 are:Ploki wrote: Mon Aug 16, 2021 7:50 amTimeless 3 is not a multitap delay, neither is marketed as one, so it's lack of multitap functionality is expected.
What additional (or different) functionality would be required for Timeless 3 to be considered a multi-tap delay?Create rhythmic patterns using up to 16 delay taps, which can be controlled and modulated individually

I didn’t delve too far into fabs tap edit, but direct tap access with all parameters like d16 Tekturon, Logic delay Designer, UVI Relayer - where you have separate control over each tap for all parameters.msl wrote: Mon Aug 16, 2021 11:49 amNot entering into an argument; I'm just curious about this statement. Basically pitch, diffuse, drive, lofi,.. etc per each tap.
I feel like timeless is more of a traditional delay with some multitap functionality
