^ I already have the option to run Reason in a high resolution by my Macbook Pro's screen settings. However, I do not use highest resolution. Mainly because I cannot read the fonts that well, partly because it obviously sucks juicy from the CPU. Guess the latter will be improved now with scalings, but the former requires eye transplantations, if not replacement of visual cortex and parts of frontal cortex too, so my expectations are somewhat moderate. Doesn't matter anyway, if I upgrade, it will be to get mimic. Any improvements due to scaling, would just be icing on the cake.

That's not nearly the same... R12/R+ has 5K assets, high-res fonts and GPU acceleration (so more CPU for audio).

It's a dramatically better experience, IMO.

Reason 12 rack is so confusing.

Just working out a side chain is very difficult compared to Reaper.

Where do I put my cables?
I don't know if they are pre or post.

+1. Yes, if you really want to record or composte music,
DAWs have to be boring. Because you want to make music
and don't want to deal with the DAW as such. The less the
DAW gets in my way while composing, the better.

Only - and only then - if I don't want to record or create
music at all, but instead want to deal with GUIs + plugins
as such, then the DAW itself should be distinctive. But in
this case a game or entertainment program might be a
better choice.

How about not boring = exciting, inspiring, helping, leading to "happy accidents", guiding, etc.

DAW should only be boring if one treats it as a fancy tape recorder.
