Ableton gets used for film (and game) scores. What specifically does Live not have that you think you need?

No score editor, clunky linear arrange mode, annoying cc implementation....the list is actually quite long.

No, you try not to be that guy, making the thread about you instead of the OP's question. I was very specifically asking the OP, not you. I dont need your opinion, nor do I want it. I want to understand what the OP was asking for.

Cubase and Digital Performer. FWIW, I have both, and perform all of my short film scores with Digital Performer.

I agree that Reaper is more than adequate. It's fine for scoring. I tend to use Vegas. Fast and intuitive with fine audio editing capabilities.

Hans Zimmer uses Cubase.
Danny Elfman uses Digital Performer.
John Williams uses paper.

Best DAW for film scoring on Windows?
