Why the Polaris and not the real Chroma?

Chroma would be fine too. But the Polaris is quite underrated in my opinion.

Whatever's in it, I hope it includes at least one synth with a unique and challenging workflow. I've had the most fun figuring out less familiar instruments like the Synclavier, Buchla, Synthi, and CMI; I don't get as interested in an OSC->Filter->Amp knob-tweaking synth.
However, I would like to see a Polivoks-V. I think that would cover some fresh, brutal sonic territory.

Post

I'd love to see a development of SEM-V to allow full per-voice multitimbrality like in the Cherry Audio version. I bought the CA synth for that feature alone.

Post

An eminent 310 U for example, a JP 8000 and the Virus Series, that would be magic.

I wouldn't mind a bit of TONTO action.

Can you imagine the ridiculous UI they would come up with for that? I bet it needs a VR-capable gaming rig.

You can have that as much as you want already with VCV, Voltage Modular, even with multiple Arturia Moogs and alike… But the wooden panel for your screen is still up to you as it was for Tonto…

I'd like to see an across-the-range update for microtuning+MPE as standard and probably some more modern GUI stuff.

For new synths I'd like to see an SQ-80V, FS1RV, or a Polivoks V.

Post

Arturia needs to significantly update the Prophet V/VS.

I wonder if they'll start to skew a little more modern. How about the microKorg?

ugh. why? it's an MS2000 in a smaller box. would make more sense to do an MS2000 but even then.. why?

Already been done

It's a bit early though, as the "nostalgia factor" seems to kick in when a synth is around 30 years old. It used to be that people only wanted emulations of the Minimoog, Jupiter 8, Prophet 5, OB-X etc. but now emulations of late 80's / early 90's ROMplers are becoming more popular. Give it another 5-8 years and people will be all over the aliased, lo-fi sound of a virtual analog running on an underpowered Motorola chip.
Take a single oscillator, producing a drone. Send it to the wave shaper, altering the tone.
This can be a triangle, Sawtooth or a square. Modulate the pulse width, nobody will care
