Reason 12 IS beta until it’s released officially.
Same as Bitwig letting annual plan users access to early betas…they are just trying to throw a few perks in, nothing to be concerned about.
Just wait for it to be released officially and then demo it see if you like it, if you do, buy it (or subscribe) if not don’t!

this is quite a ride. reason 12 beta/ reason+.....
reason 11 beta was quite smooth i remember...
this is a ride, no, this is bull riding! ha!
they implement in batches... quite surprising. they make it up while they code? or they have a roadmap, and they code? riding the roadmap? or they have the code, and trying to squeeze it in?? it seems that it is quite a rewrite.
i guess reason 12 in the end will be as good and even better than 11...
i hope, o well, it will be...
pity i have to postpone... or perhaps not, that i will buy in sale, a finished product, perhaps even 13...
i first thought, i must invest in my canvas, a new canvas, that can ride this ride and other rides, as a winner...
the 333 offer i did get, and will stop it, of course..
and my reason 11 suite, will not stop running... it will run faster than i can...
but enjoy the reading here, don't do much with reason+, only to so what gives...

I would argue my Reason+ formally isn't a beta, yet it still doesn't have fully HD implemented across the app. So, effectively it's a beta. And this is how it's gonna be from now on.SLiC wrote: Thu Aug 19, 2021 8:07 pm Reason 12 IS beta until it’s released officially.

I'd also submit that if Reason+ current model of offering feature previews of things to come isn't popular with R+ subscribers (because they feel like they're beta testing), they'll start cancelling and subscriptions will dry up. I'm fairly confident that Reason Studios are aware of this.

I doubt they're even self-aware. I waited a whole week for my license to be transferred to the buyer and RS' explanation was that ...whole support team was on holidaysEnochLight wrote: Thu Aug 19, 2021 8:27 pmI'm fairly confident that Reason Studios are aware of this.

European company, August. I mean I don’t get it either from my side of the pond, but seems to be tradition. Does Poland not participate in the all August holiday thing?antic604 wrote: Thu Aug 19, 2021 8:33 pmI doubt they're even self-aware. No. We spread it over May/June - August and ensure there's enough stuff for the business to carry on. It's unthinkable that whole company - or an important department - is out.

Completely unrelated to the topic at hand, but I feel for you. As an American, I've never understood (yet always envied) Swedish holiday practices.antic604 wrote: Thu Aug 19, 2021 8:33 pmI doubt they're even self-aware. Abolutely not. The beta test version is a beta. Reason+ is sold as a full fat release version - not early release as Bitwig is - that is labelled as early release. Reason+ simply says: "You get access to Reason (standalone and VST/AU/AAX plugin) and its collection of over 70 legendary instruments and effects. This means you'll have access to every synth, sampler, effect and utility that we have ever made—and anything we make in the future, too. Nothing about testing, not finished, beta, pre release etc. just you get Reason. Their marketing shit said you get the latest features before anyone else - well you do, it just isn't quite finished or will be finished a bit later.
They should have said if you subscribe you will get access to the latest features which a few weeks or months down the line will be tested by the + users and have features added like you know, the same features devices we made years ago already have and other "features" like a 50% reduction in CPU use. It's a total desperate scam and the fact they are on the second 3 month for £3 in as many weeks shows that they are desperate to get people on this service to keep the private equity folks happy.
I am sorry but they could have updated and iterated in the past 5-10 years quite happily. I can sound like me without subscriptions. I have enough samplers and synths. Like to pay for things that are polished and finished just like the very first release of reason was when I got my lovely little square box in the post 20 years ago.

But you do t have to subscribe to R+ You can just buy the software when its released just as before, so what’s the problem?
R+ is not full R12, it just has some early access features, R12 isn’t released yet, R+ doesn’t even have combiner 2 or the final version of Mimc with pitch detection…who knows what else will be in the release version….

The other part is - you didn’t *HAVE* to upgrade Reason+ to the latest version. It’s all optional.

And I haven't but they're investing all their time and effort into pushing this even when promoting mimic they're pushing reason+. On their web site there's nothing promoting the new stuff either in + or coming instead it is all the sound like you crap and all about reason+.
In other words if I wanted to try the subscription when they have their bait and switch desperate 333 sales I would be trying an unfinished mess where they are magically going to shave off 50% CPU usage and hopefully fix some of those low res assets in reasons hi res new world. I mean look at that screen shot if the mixer on page 65 of this thread.
Again it all smacks of desperation but hey if you have embraced it fair enough.

I don't think it's a scam, not yet at least. It's however in my opinion obvious that the people pulling the strings are doing so in a very short term profit oriented manner, and that spending any significant money on their products would be unwise until they've proven they're a serious business with a long term plan and that they're not the enslaved ghost of Propellerhead animated through the greed of some investors.

It's similar in Germany and Switzerland too - completely unthinkeable to even let the customer feel much of a slow-down... holidays are not much of a valid excuse here...antic604 wrote: Thu Aug 19, 2021 8:50 pmNo. We spread it over May/June - August and ensure there's enough stuff for the business to carry on. in Spain and much of Italy and France (etc.) it's getting simply too hot to do much in August - and I guess in Scandinavia they want to fully use the bit of Summer they have...
