Could you update, with pricing Advert in title ( its on special :D ), as I came in and found it not free, this isn't a critism, just trying to help :)

As an side note, possibly a one off, One month all you can eat offer, a' La Fathom or mono version, just thinking/writing out loud ;)

Will test, nice visually :)

I have Monique and it is currently on sale. For $25 or €20 I think. For that price I 100% recommend it.

Because of the excessive modulation possibilities and a good overall sound flavor one can get really unique sequences or bass lines out of it.

Just about too take it out for a test run, yes €20 seems a fair sum,.:)

In case there have been changes from what the KVR database lists - what form of activation / authorization does Monique and B-Step currently use?

Thanks

@jdavis3: After the purchase you just click on the provided link and download a dll, no authorization necessary. Pretty painless-

I mucked around with it, didn't quite know what I was doing as the interface is a little different, but I was impressed with the different modulation possibilities. Now checking the manual, and it makes much more sense. It can sound purty but can get into some screwed up griminess, especially with the filters. Agressive and experimental. Check it out in case you missed it before, on sale at $25 atm, well worth it. OK, no more purchases for a month I swear(unless the new Madrona Labs comes out).
It's a cool synth, but last time I used it there were some things I really didn't love about it. There was no way to disable velocity sensitivity, no keytracking on the filter, and the arp functioned more like a sequencer in that turning it on would start playback of the pattern without even pressing a key. Not sure if any of those features were addressed since, but the developer did say at the time that they'd be coming in a future release. Now, negatives aside, it has an interesting approach to routing and can do some really interesting things. I had the same experience you did, very confused at first, but after a quick read of the manual it's like, "'oh, I get it, this is neat." I with the developer the best.

@Jonathan Shepherd: Thanks for the information and response.

What an absolutely awesome video promo this is! It really makes me want to try the synth, which I shall do when I get home tonight.

What made you think of this synth 3 years after the last post?
Their website is already gone, probably their overpriced synth didn't sell well at all...

It was on a list of top 10 freebies I saw on YouTube.

Well, I got around to installing this and checking out the presets. It's not bad. After a while the presets start to sound very samey but I'm not sure if that's because of the the synth or whoever made the factory patches. It does sound very digital, in the way of many FM synths, even though it is more of a V/A with FM capability.

I must admit that I didn't really play around with it beyond the presets because it feels like I should probably RTFM to get the most out of it. From what I heard, though, I'm not sure I'm interested enough. It's nice but I've already got a shit-ton of nice synths, one more won't make any difference to anything. I still love that promo video, though. (I just watched it again.)

We did it as an OSC synth last year,

and now it's been picked up by the Surge team apparently.
