Cubase.
I like the UI/UX and the workflow. It's kind of the ultimate generalist DAW, without going into esoteric territory (like Digital Performer), which is pretty much why I use it.

Bitwig and Cubase.
I am a long time user of Cubase and it's my comfortable DAW to do mixing and that little mastering I am capable of (I don't deceive myself by thinking I can master like a pro). So Cubase is my first choice for that.
And Bitwig is, of course, my platform for creation. I tried other DAW's for that in the past (like FL Studio, Reason and Ableton Live), but none of them made me feel as comfortable as Bitwig. With the other DAW's I was always kind of fighting the DAW to do what I want, and thus losing my targets in the process. Bitwig just "clicks" with me, and let me concentrate on creation in stead of "fighting" the DAW.
Those two cover about 99% of my needs. I really do not need another DAW to cover that remaining 1%, so that's that.

I used Reason for 13 years predominately, but forever hated the lack of step-time recording on the sequencer.
Then I moved to a DAW that wasn't so crazily archaic in so many ways. No prizes for what DAW that is.

S1's step input is atrocious, though. Check Ableton, if THAT's your reason for changing DAWs.THE INTRANCER wrote: Sun Aug 22, 2021 11:25 pm I used Reason for 13 years predominately, but forever hated the lack of step-time recording on the sequencer.

But S1 at least has basic step time functionality on the timeline editor. This is especially useful for those with hardware keyboards which have arpeggiator functionality as well. Creating rests in S1 is probably best using a tied macro key, but it is possible to make that aspect more useful rather than using the mouse alone. Overall it's like using trackers back in the day with no plugins involved which Reason requires.antic604 wrote: Mon Aug 23, 2021 4:24 amS1's step input is atrocious, though. Yes, that's what I meant - it's crude & basic.THE INTRANCER wrote: Mon Aug 23, 2021 5:00 amBut S1 at least has basic step time functionality on the timeline editor...
