Another better (imho) webcam test. I still need to work on the scaling because I didn't really
want it to tile. You can actually see some modules and blinky lights. I dunno, I'm just adding
the modular because... Well, that seems to be the thing to do with modular. I guess everyone
seems to want to see the gear porn. I can understand wanting to see the patch, which is one
reason for it not to tile, (not to mention the fractal on the tile). Anyway, it's a modular synth,
it seems only reasonable for it to be in the video somehow.

The gitch is the TV Damage plugin from Vegas, which I both like and dislike. The horizontal
hold effect (the horiz warping) is kinda weak, the frequency parameter should be animated
probably, to slow it down and stretch it out. In the end, I don't think there's really any good
reason to use the plugin without any context for it.

BTW: If anyone got the humble deal on Vegas, it's worth it to install the Movie Studio software if
only to get all of the plugins. Tho, I'm probably the only guy who was only using the editor and
never installed it in the first place. I dunno, a lot of the stuff in the humble bundles is crap imo,
and I don't bother to even try it. The Vegas Movies Studio was actually a lot better than I thought
it would be, though I prefer just to use the editor.

It will be a few weeks (probably) before I actually pony up for a glitch effect module. Likely the Fluxus Duo .

Maybe video is the wrong fit for KVR.
Considering the amount of time and effort Ive put into answering stuff youve asked and trying to assist you, I find that statement really really disappointing. I now wonder what would actually have been sufficient to not have resulted in this kind of dismissal of the notion.
I’ve thanked you before and I’ll take this opportunity to thank you again — clueing me in to Spout was especially helpful as now I know that to do what I want my rig must terminate with something that has Spout in and out (and if I want projector warp and blend that means Resolume Arena I guess, unfortunately for my pocketbook).

But the thread has been going a month now, not even 50 votes in total with “yes” votes barely ahead, and maybe four people posting, so it’s not exactly a landslide. There’s just barely enough support for a thread let alone a forum, but maybe it’ll grow.

I’m about done here for now myself… I still haven’t even found a lens for my main camera that I’m happy with yet — and after I get the cameras sorted I need to gather all the basic liquid light plates and dyes and other classic light show paraphernalia. Once I learn to use all that, then I’ll be ready to start messing with the video stuff discussed here so far, but at least now I feel like I have a solid overview of where it’s all going. So thank you!

Found some interesting RasPi based video synth doodads.

Sold 'built', but sourcecode available too, if you wanna try building your own.

Also source for some other Pi based projects here including a video sampler called r_e_c_u_r:

finally had a poke around with resolve...
won't open any of my video files on either my phone or from the puter?
probably codec related.

tried for the sake of it while open, transition fx on photos.
reached some limit, got a davinci logo in the playback

ill have a proper look later/morrow or find something else, as, it's getting urgent now i have 5 subscribers eagerly awaiting my directorial debut!

What format?

Resolve looks okay for codec support.

You can always use VLC to convert if need be.

the ones on the computer are mp4 as far as i know, and on the phone i assume the same, just whatever phone cameras usually do?

cant think what else it could be though, it imports photos from the same folder.

other than that, it did seem fairly straightforward to get a basic video from, works as one would expect coming from an audio background.

ill try a camera test later maybe!
if i can find something cool to film with the endoscope :hihi:

mp4 should work fine, afaik. certainly, its what ive tried with a tutorial i found.

error messages?
It should have some kind of dialogue pop up if it can't deal, like a FPS mismatch.
it certainly supports mp4.

btw, there is a setup gear icon in the lower right corner, for establishing certain things for the timeline in your project.
EG: I make it force the pixel res to 3840/2160 or similar (source might be half that, although now, since most of it is a screen movie at that native resolution on this machine, make the initial render in FCPX [much better text effects handling and presets] that, although its super HQ Apple result is HUGE & to little gain I'm ever going to know from) which forces Youtube to the Opus audio codec which is def better than its defaults.

Post

you import the things in the Media tab if you have yet to catch on; here you also establish basic directories, where it writes cache to and that.

thanks for the pointers 8)

yeah, i had the media lab working for non video, just not video for some reason
if i can work out what ive done, i shall let you know, hopefully help others avoid it :)

mkv apparently?
theyre the screen grabs from obs.
no idea why the phone ones wont upload?
might try grabbing them on to the computer first, see if that works...

endoscope doesnt seem to be an acceptable camera for da vinci
but! have managed to open the endoscopy bits from the win movie maker.
and am having some fun adding mirrors and all that shit that no one except noobs does!!! :hyper:

You can convert mkv directly to mp4 within OBS itself.

From the menu, its File>Remux Recordings.

Drag and drop your mkv files on the dialog box that that brings up, and once you've added the ones you want, click 'Remux'
