I got some quite convincing feedback behaviour from Sinmad, which is a physical modelling synth by Nusofting. It had the same sort of feel of riding feedback that you get with a guitar. I did t quite get a guitar sound out of it but wasn't trying that hard to do so.

Personally I think the Softube one sounds awful and unconvincing but I like the feedback in Ohmforce Ohmicide.

Personally, if you're not looking for live performance, what I often do is to grab a synth like DIVA and choose a preset that generally sounds like amp feeback, nothing really sophisticated, and then place it before the same amp sim and fx chain I'm using for the guitar tone and ride it using midi and my controller's pitch-wheel. Sounds pretty great, if you take your time to adjust it.

Oh I forgot an option, Sustainiac and Fernandes Sustainer are more hardware options.
You do have to alter your guitar for these though.
