Reason 12 announced

I’m user of Reason since their very beginning and ReBirth 338 before that.
Love it and decided to go subscription now.
Why ?
Well it started to piss me off that upgrades to Reason were the same price for version 1 as for version 10..?!
WTF!
After so many years of dealing with this bizarre pricing arrangement, I have decided to go subscription instead and get all the goodies
Right or wrong, love Reason and will continue to use it.
One thing that really bugs me is that I need to log in for authorisation every time I use it

I'd love to have the confidence to go full-Reason, but I don't. Not with the shit they've been pulling out recently. I'll sooner cancel my 3M/3$ sub and "forget" all the REs I still have in my account

- removing channel & master insert remotes from Mixer
- not updating the tool & transport bar to high-res assets
- no update to Authorizer - or user accounts on the Web - to provide the same flexibility for (un)installing REs like in R+ Companion

Those alone suggest to me that Reason DAW, 3rd party REs ecosystem and perpetual license holders are an afterthought.

Honestly Antic, they seem like some quite petty reasons to stop using $1000's worth of stuff you already own!...No HD transport bar, seriously? They just completely updated the Remix mixer without any announcement, that's part of the DAW. They also said pitch detection in Mimic on launch and no doubt there will be some other stuff on launch or soon after ( they have already said there will be another update before Xmas with VST3..and that the authoriser is going to have a complete overall (including off line launching)

Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater, 12 is substantial better than 10 and 11, so how can you want to give it up if you liked it before? When you bought all this stuff, did you buy it for what it 'did' or what you thought it may be able to do in the future after software updates?

Right! I forgot to complain about that one, too! It doesn't retain the look of the original Regroove Mixer nor does it look like transport/tool bar (e.g. it doesn't take the colour of current theme). It just look like a lazy, half-assed attempt to update it before release.

And yes, transport & tool bar are always there, so their jagged edges stick out like a sore thumb.

Thank the gods, because the original looked dated and ugly AF. Really hoping they update the main SSL-based mixer to something similar...

Is reason standalone now capable of receiving midi note/controller data on multiple midi channels , and or busses ?
Using it just as a synth rack , using a hardware sequencer
Afaik , previous versions couldn't do that
