EDIT: Yes, it is. I'm stupid (not a surprise, but still worth noting).

not in Reason self, but somebody named koshdukai has programmed some workaround. Works perfectly here with Reason 11 and my controllers...antic604 wrote: Tue Aug 24, 2021 3:20 pmNo.gentleclockdivider wrote: Tue Aug 24, 2021 2:56 pmIs reason standalone now capable of receiving midi note/controller data on multiple midi channels, and or busses ?
It was always possible. You just need to configure what goes where.gentleclockdivider wrote: Tue Aug 24, 2021 2:56 pm Is reason standalone now capable of receiving midi note/controller data on multiple midi channels , and or busses ?
Using it just as a synth rack , using a hardware sequencer
Afaik , previous versions couldn't do that
The question was about Reason, not Rack Plugin.
They're one and the same, so it bears mentioning.
Yup, buy the Rack, get the DAW free, buy the DAW, get the Rack freeEnochLight wrote: Wed Aug 25, 2021 1:48 pmThey're one and the same, so it bears mentioning.![]()
Yeah, I saw that, and was quite surprised that they put it that way as well. Maybe things weren't quite as smooth as some people always claimed recently, financially/business wise.TribeOfHǫfuð wrote: Wed Aug 25, 2021 7:14 pm WOW. You haven't visited for a while then, its been like that all year!TribeOfHǫfuð wrote: Wed Aug 25, 2021 7:14 pm WOW. Just went to RS homepage where they have decided that "We´re a Plugin (and a DAW)", and the new motto is "Plug in Reason". There goes the DAW versus Plug In debate down the drain. Reason is a plug in with the secondary effect of being a DAW too. Sounds like the DAW people shouldn´t expect to be first priority for many upgrades to come.
Disclaimer: I write from no personal bias, just observations of the debate. For all I care, I could do with Reason 11 suite and all my RE and VSTi goodies for this life and a few reincarnations more.
That's interesting. I kind of have the feeling that the combinator updates are more about them trying to make Reason into a platform for other DAWs (kind of like Reaktor or something similar). I don't know if the whole sub model will change their fortunes, I don't think it will. I foresee them focusing on the plugin going forward and slowly stripping out the DAW stuff until one day they announce it as a plugin only.chk071 wrote: Wed Aug 25, 2021 7:17 pmYeah, I saw that, and was quite surprised that they put it that way as well. No, SLIC, it has not been announced so directly as that. Reason + occupied their homepage just a week ago or so, now it is Plug In Reason. However the concept and turn have been primed since the release of the plugin.SLiC wrote: Wed Aug 25, 2021 7:19 pm You haven't visited for a while then, its been like that all year!
^^ Pretty much this ^^SLiC wrote: Wed Aug 25, 2021 7:19 pm You haven't visited for a while then, its been like that all year!
% of all DAW users who will use Reason as their primary DAW irrespective of if they add folders or VST3! <5%? Reason will never be like Pro Tools, Cubase or Logic, it's built 'around' the rack....
Potential new market for Reason as a Plugin = HUDGE.
Can't blame them.
