Roland System 8, JX3P and Zenology Pro.
System 8 Is kind of like Uhe Diva of Roland synths :)
JX3P is awesome if you like the sound and it's unique sound is different from the other two.
Zenology Pro is everything in one (Workstation + Synth).

Hi D-Fusion,

OK. I will check the JX3P, and Zenology Pro.

Zenology Pro looks like it can do a lot. I didn't spend any time with it yet.

I have a System 8 Keyboard (HW). with some of the Plugouts. I love the System 8 sounds, having a virtual System 8 is cool as well, and I can control it from my System 8 keyboard. I installed the Juno 60 in the third Plugout slot.

I also like the good old Sound Canvas in RC. Used to have one SC-88 a long time ago. It has so many sounds in it, and it's quite amazing what one can do with just one SC-88. :)

I would love to see Roland release an accurate emulation of their JD-990 Module for RC, also some more modern synths, not just emulations of the older vintage synths.

Thanks,
Muziksculp

Here are my choices for lifetime licenses, so far:

Jupiter-8
System-8
Juno-106
JX-3P
D50
XV-5080

Besides these, I also frequently use the SC88. Nothing else. The most used, actually, have been the JX-3P and the D50, with the XV-5080 and the SC88 coming second.

While I think the jupiter, 303, 101 and 106 are good, I think there are equally good if not better alternatives for those. The system-8 seems like a good modernized all-in-one.

The 808,909 though I think are unmatched by other emulations (I wish they were as good elsewhere since I hate the cloud). I'm planning to sample them as single hits for my own use, even though I own the lifetime keys, since I do like the full VSTs representing the old units. But hate the cloud.

And the D50 really has no other emulations and is quite cool. I'm sure others would say the same about the JV-1080 or XV-5080 etc.

I think the D16 products are just as good or even better. However, imo sampling is the way to go (I use Samples From Mars, but there are other great sets, too). Modern drum samplers like Battery offer so many ways to avoid a static sound. Add a saturator or a bit crusher (I think BitJuggler is outstanding) and you will happily dump the Roland emus.

The JX3P is great and has a sound of it's own which i really like.
I liked it so much so i bought 2 of the Boutique JX-03 a few months ago since they have more options than the JX3P so now i have 2 different version one in the vst and two extended versions in hw.
Wish they would have sneak the extended version in the JX3P plugout too but i guess they wanted to keep that one close to the original synth.
Yeah i also have the Juno 60 Plugout and i like it better than the Juno 106 because it's 2 in one and i also have the Tal uno lx and the Cherry audio DCO 106 (Love the Junos) :)

has something new happened or you are still required to log on to roland cloud is it once a week or however often to ensure your lifetime key products work?
rsp
Not sure how they would do this when all of these products require RCM, which frankly isn't "the cloud" so the ad really isnt lying ;)

RCM is Short for Roland Cloud Manager so yes it requires RCM-Roland Cloud Manager.
But the the trick to have them always authorized is by having one of the vst's in your startup template in your daw since it checks in to the RCM everytime one of them is loaded.

Thanks for the feedback.

I'm Loving the JX3P, also quite impressed by Zenology Pro. It has huge potential, very diverse.

Not a big fan of the RC D-50, some how It feels like it's missing the character of the real D-50. I used to own one long time ago.

Mapping to physical controller knobs, buttons and sliders makes a lot of the RC instruments come alive I find.

Are you safe?

I wasn't impressed with the RC D-50 VST

Does anybody know of any free JX-3P bin files? The plugin (plug-out) seems to come with only one bank.
