No? I could. Easily.
Out of curiosity, what direction would you have rather they took? Trust me when I say that I have my own wellspring of complaints, but I am really curious as to what direction they could have went that would have been better for them as a company (hence, surviving and staying relevant, and continuing to update the software with new features).

Now that's an easy one:

give the DAW people (i.e. Reason's complete pre 11 user-base) some of what they want, need, deserve and patiently waited for. Assure them that you will always cater for them as they will always be very dear to you.

Seek to steadily increase the number of customers, who use Reason as a plugin. Offer a light version once more to lure more of them in. Use a variety of opportunities to enlight them about the ever growing powers of Reason as a DAW. Teach them how they get more of everything by using Reason as a DAW instead of just as yet another plugin in another DAW. Show the users of the light version how and why Reason full as a DAW is what they (i.e. some of the plugin-users) actually want. Give your best to make everyone happy. Do your best to connect people and to welcome them in the family, rather than driving them away and apart.

Subscription? Make it as optional as possible - unless you're Adobe, which you are not - by a long shot.

There is one big mistake many managers make (partly, I believe, because in reality, they are clueless because they are unbelievably boring people who do not understand anything that is related to passion, so they neither really get what really drives their staff and what really drives their customers nor do they get what it means for their business to offend both staff and customers the way they tend to do): they throw the baby out with the bathwater. And it should be obvious that the unwritten rule number one is to never do that. (In this case, of course, the original (pre plugin) user-base is the baby and the plugin version of Reason is the bathwater.)

+ encourage the RE devs to come back by paying them fairly, placing their stuff front & center, listen to their requests about the API, allow for resale of REs (via native store, with RS+devs taking the cut)

As someone who hasn't grown up using the Reason DAW I don't find it particularly enjoyable to use so tend to just use the rack plugin within other DAWs.

What I have longed for though is a totally skinnable modular DAW that you can truly 'make your own'. Something that goes way beyond what Reaper offers in just reskinning the same components in different ways, but where you can drop in entirely different styles of DAW workflow e.g. something based around an 808 style step sequencer paradigm or a generative workflow where you can define different sections and have them play pseudo-randomly. Someone else may want to drop in a Renoise style tracker front end. If it's all just objects in memory talking to each other and keeping the same beat then they could look like anything.

There is no reason my perfect DAW workspace would look like anyone else's so why not give us total control over how the different parts fit together and then use some of the Reason+ resources that are creating more 'sound packs' to create DAW workflows.

Just adding a few extra shinies to a bad DAW experience doesn't make a good DAW experience IMO.

Oh and what I'm saying also means you could totally recreate the existing Reason DAW workflow and appearance if you wanted to.

Are you safe?

After thinking about it for a moment longer I realized that my analogy above with the baby and the bathwater makes limited sense as it is, as they're not really getting rid of the plugin version...
(the bad they're trying to get rid of instead of course is to attract only a sub-set of their potential customers by offering "just" a DAW and plugins that can only be used within that very DAW, so that should have to be the bathwater - either way, I hope you guys got what I mean)

Swapping instrument devices?

i only see a + to add below or above the device I want to swap.

P.S. I worked it out.

I needed to move away from the device track and focus the mouse pointer over the actual instrument device.

I never heard sonically good music made using only reason or even atleast 50% reason.

I can't get Blocks mode to work.

There should be a Block Icon to click in the track or arranger page to put Reason into Blocks mode.

Or is it my poor eyesight?

Can't see one anywhere.

P.S. OK,Enable Blocks in options.

What a load of bollox is that? :-o

Reason is a DAW, like Cubase or Logic or Studio One - it does not have a sound of its own. Learn the basics first, kid. Then come here and chat with the grown-ups. ;-)

There is nothing, absolutely nothing hipster about that new video. It’s absolutely awful and doesn’t sell or product or even the service really. I’m starting to think they’ve either lost lots of older staff or changed as agency. Either way thus isn’t going g to sellreason to anyone.
