Especially considering it's your money which is being spent here. There are demos available for any of the plugins mentioned here, and the free ones are free anyway.
i bought synthmaster 2.9.9
its a bit of me
with phonec and minimonsta and sample packs
im done and covered
thanks guys

serum was only in there because of rent to own
those synths were expensive so didnt bother trying them at all cheers

Hm, depends on what your goals are. If you say you are inexprienced in sound design and want to deepen your skills - Why then already spend money? Go with the free options and sharepen your skill - even if you don't like Surges mod matrix or Vitals look (isn't it skinable?) they come for free and you can learn a lot for free. Then after a while when you feel your skills are better you can still spend a lot of money.

Personaly because it has been mentioned: The way the plugin does copy protection is a criteria, too. I personaly would not chose avenger based on this.

BTW: If you looking for getting better in sound design, I would recommend the OneSynthChallenge. It's a monthly challeng on KVR. Each month a different free synth is featured. Goal is to create a track based on only using the featured synth ... Check out the current round #150 - viewtopic.php?f=1&t=568697

That's fair enough. Although Arturia do have some good sale prices. I would be demoing all of these then waiting for Black Friday Sales! ;)

Should have gotten Pigments 3 when it was on intro sale. I paid 69 €, which is a great price for a really nice and complex synth.

My advice would be to head over to soundbetter.com and create a free account which will give you Arturia Analog Lab V intro for free. This gives you about 800 top quality presets from iconic synths but most importantly makes you an Arturia customer. Wait a couple of months and you will likely get a substantial loyalty discount on Pigments 3 which only released a few months back is everything youd expect a synth to be in 2021 and well worth the extra $10 or $20 you will pay over Synthmaster.

You can also do a similar trick to get Phaseplant for about $50 but it involves spending a lot more on their Snapin FX.

i have analogue lab intro which I'm not gonna use
and i have Synthmaster player there similarities in those two things
not enough editing capabilities as i like to edit pre-sets as well

is are there any much difference in sound quality between serum pigments and Synthmaster and the likes all the ones mentioned here ?
thts really what i was asking
i see soundpacks by the big guns for pigments not so much from the others
but then synthmaster do most of there big names on there own website like arksun etc
so people who have mad skills use all of these plugs ins or one
and tbh I didn't need to buy one now but i want one that I'm gonna learn through and through
but I'm only interested in one synth
having too man synths is a rabbit whole for me of wasting time playing with synths and presets and getting nothing done
I don't like having more than two at a time tbh

this is the kind of response i like i wonder will we pay from version 2.9.9 to 3 ?
From my understanding..that will be a free upgrade.
really ?

If nothing else, this thread has reminded me that I have Vital! (I've been working for a while on an album sticking with vintage synth sounds, been a lot of Diva and Repro) :)

One thing I don't have much patience for is bugs. Any plugin that causes crashes more than once in a blue moon has got to go.

This thread also has me interested in trying Surge, though I really don't need any more synths...

I might make people very angry. But in my opinion synthmaster is an absolute pain in the ass to program. Synthmaster one is way better in terms of usability.

Really ?

I think that it's clearly laid out and very logical...

The GUI improved a great deal from 2.9.8 and the visual feedback is really helpful @ programming time...

One of the things I like most about SynthMaster 2 is the ability to save presets for each section...

SynthMaster 2 is a winner in my world :tu:
No auto tune...

^^^^^agreed. The 2.99 update pretty much did everything I was hoping 3 would bring. I have always liked the GUI and workflow. It is just better now.

Ok I updated it. I have to admit that drag and drop modulation assignment is huge step in the right direction and now they also removed the useless clicks you have to do when switching through modulation sources.
But My main concerns are still there. They advertise that sm has every form of synthesis. But from the ones they actually have none is implemented properly in a usable way.
I basically just bought it because it was really cheap (i had sm one and there was a crossgrade sale) so I don't really care but yeah I still don't like it ^^
