Actually, I can't believe he wasn't the first one I thought of! I grew up a big fan, Annie's Song was performed by many of my old bandmates at our wedding, and now our son is a big fan, too.

One of the problems with this thread is you have no guarantee that the necro will do any good.
For example, supposing we are living in the timeline where someone brought back Brian Wilson after fatal car crash took him after the creation of Pet Sounds?
A lot of these guys died of suicides and overdoses. Whose to say that if you brought Kurt back in 1994 he would have made it through 1995? Or that Keith Moon would have lasted much longer if you brought him back?

Even if the piano player can't play, keep the party going.

we've already covered the issues with bringing back the long term dead.mumpcake wrote: ↑Fri Aug 27, 2021 5:44 pm One of the problems with this thread is you have no guarantee that the necro will do any good.

Yeah, but there's always the option of going back in time to when the corpses are fresh.

Did anyone mention Keith Moon or John Bonham? It would have been nice to see where The Who and Led Zeppelin would have gone had they survived.

ah, well that explains why you're worried about other timelines crossing over!
yeah, that's the worry there, even more so let's say we decide on keith moon.
we go back in time to him just that minute being dead, but unknowingly cross to a different timeline...
bringing back, a keith who never played drums and was an accountant for an insurance company.

Possibly the Starship route, dropping the Led, going with just Zeppelin, and giving us hit songs equal to "We Built This City".
IOW, be careful what you wish for.

Two ways I see this working: We follow the desired musician around like a shadow so we can get to work straight away; or we get a little pro-active.

they bring the poor guy back, plop him on the drum stool and he is just sitting there, starting to sweat and wanting to go back to his office.

the folk doing the opening ceremony did a seance to see if he wanted to come back
(they really did have him down as a possible performer )
